Gona's face was pale; he was utterly terrified by Wu Tian. Even seeing the Steel Guardians brought him no comfort. "What are you doing here?" he asked, his voice hollow. "I'm preparing to return to Europe."
"Return?"
The Steel Guardians exchanged glances. The Big Boss shook his head and said flatly, "Young Master, that's not what the Family Head said. He wants you to oversee our commercial progress in Dragon Country. He personally appointed you to be in charge of the sale of the Scientific Cultivation Devices. You can't leave."
At these words, Gona couldn't help but grit his teeth. Disregarding the fact that they were in a busy airport, he shouted, "Will you only be satisfied when I'm dead and buried in Dragon Country?"
The Steel Guardians were taken aback by his outburst, completely baffled. They couldn't understand what could have happened to Gona to make him act this way.
The Big Boss snorted. "Young Master, you need to understand that while we are your guardians, we only take orders from the Family Head. And rest assured, with us Steel Guardians here to protect you, you will be safe."
Gona shook his head, nearly frantic. "Your thinking right now is just like mine was at the beginning," he said through clenched teeth. "You think there's nothing you can't handle and that he's no big deal. But I know I was wrong. If you make me stay here, I will die. You will regret it, and you will die too."
The Big Boss hadn't expected Gona to say something so grave. The other Steel Guardians, however, remained unconcerned.
When they had first entered the forest to hunt lions and tigers, the locals had all said they couldn't do it. But they had succeeded, nearly hunting the forest's lions and tigers to extinction. When they went to war-torn nations, many people had also said they would fail, but with the strength of their team, they had quelled the endless conflicts of those small countries.
Now, Gona also thought they would fail. They simply laughed it off. The facts would speak for themselves.
Gona tried to leave, but the Steel Guardians blocked his path. Driven to hysterics, Gona began punching and kicking at them. In his eyes, their refusal to let him leave was tantamount to a death sentence.
The Steel Guardians didn't fight back, simply standing there and letting Gona hit them with indifferent expressions. Their muscles were like armor. Gona's blows didn't hurt them in the slightest.
He seemed to have gone mad. The commotion drew the attention of everyone at the airport.
"What's wrong with that guy?"
"Probably a lunatic."
But Gona paid them no mind, continuing his frantic assault. With disheveled hair and bloodshot eyes, his voice grew hoarse as he begged, "Why… why are you so arrogant? Why won't you listen to me? Let me leave this place, leave Dragon Country! If I stay here any longer, I'll surely die! I'm begging you!"
The Steel Guardians stood by silently. They felt that Gona simply didn't understand their power. With them here to protect him, who could possibly harm him?
The Big Boss, however, frowned slightly. His leadership of the Steel Guardians wasn't just due to his size, though his three-meter-plus height was certainly intimidating. To be their leader, his mind had to be sharp, and he was far from being all brawn and no brain. He knew Gona well—a gentlemanly young master who was very protective of his image. Yet now, just to leave Dragon Country, he was willing to make a scene in front of a crowd.
It's obvious the person he fears is someone truly formidable. Who could it be? The Sword Emperor? The Big Boss considered the possibility, then shook his head, dismissing the thought.
Some restaurants had closed, but the open-air food stalls were still bustling. At one of them, the owner, a man in his thirties or forties, was sweating profusely in a tank top while enthusiastically serving his customers. As he was wiping down a table, his phone chimed with a text message.
Upon reading it, the owner's expression changed dramatically, his face turning grim and merciless. He apologetically told his customers that something had come up and he had to close the stall for the day.
After the customers had left, he walked into a small alley. When he emerged, he was wearing a black mask.
No one knew that he was a former King of Soldiers. He had once been saved by the Steel Guardians while abroad and owed them a debt.
The food stall could never cover his expenses. It was merely a cover. Every month, the Rothschild Family paid him an additional salary.
And this was just the beginning. In Peng City, a university teacher was asleep when his phone suddenly vibrated. He picked it up, saw the message, and gave a cold smile. Then, he took a black mask out of his wardrobe and departed.
He was a history teacher who loved telling his students about the history of the Rothschild Family. His grandfather had once received help from the Rothschild Family while abroad. In return, the family had been paying his line a salary, generation after generation. Though a citizen of Dragon Country, he now considered himself a man of the Rothschilds. He was willing to die for them.
A beggar on the street, the Gang Leader of the Jianghu sect known as the Giant Whale Gang, and even some government officials all received the same text message. At the same time, they all donned specially made black masks.
They were ready to serve the Rothschild Family.
