Outside the Qin Corporation, four men wrapped in bandages were shouting.
Behind them stood a large group of people led by ’Bad Dog,’ one of the new underworld bosses in Yang City. He was once just a bullied student, but after an incident, the former boss, Liu Wu, left Yang City and handed the gang over to him. His old street name was ’A-Dog,’ but from that day forward, he called himself ’Bad Dog.’ He had brought his men here today to back up four of his underlings.
"How did you four get into a mess with a little girl? Tell me exactly what happened." Unlike common riff-raff, Bad Dog was an educated man, and he felt that something about this situation was fishy.
"Boss Bad Dog, here’s what happened," one of them began. "Wang Wei, the head of the Wang Family, hired the four of us to kidnap a little girl. But we didn’t expect..."
At this point, the four men exchanged glances. They were thugs, and no one knew their real names. On the streets, people called them A-Da, A-Er, A-San, and A-Si.
They couldn’t clearly remember what had happened that day. All they knew was that they had been sent flying, hit a wall, and passed out. When they woke up, their first thought was whether they had tried to drag the little girl away, only to be thrown by her instead. But on second thought, that was impossible. There must have been a big man behind them who kicked them into the air. That was the only explanation they could come up with.
"Wang Wei?" Bad Dog snorted. He despised people like him. Even if Wang Wei had some grudge against the child’s parents, he should have confronted them directly. How could he stoop to targeting a child?
"Boss Bad Dog, Wang Wei is here too," A-Da said suddenly.
"Oh? Where?" Bad Dog asked.
"See that big tree by the road? He’s behind it, watching," A-Da said, pointing.
Bad Dog glanced at the tree. Indeed, a figure was hiding behind it. This made Bad Dog’s disgust deepen. The head of the Wang Corporation, acting so furtively—he was a truly despicable coward.
THUD! A-Da’s phone suddenly vibrated. He answered the call and, after a moment, looked at Bad Dog. "Boss, it’s Wang Wei. He wants to talk to you."
Bad Dog’s disdain for Wang Wei intensified. Wang Wei was right there, just behind a nearby tree, yet he wouldn’t come out to speak in person. Instead, he had to make a clandestine phone call.
Bad Dog grunted and took the phone. "Hello, what do you want?"
"My son lost a children’s singing competition to a little girl. Unfortunately, I’ve only managed to find out that her dad works for the Qin Corporation. Your job is to draw him out and accuse him of assault. And of course, don’t you dare drag my name into this."
Stupid! Cowardly! That was Bad Dog’s assessment of Wang Wei. Many rich families had a single son who would eventually inherit the family business. However, these families often spoiled their sons from a young age, and most grew up to be good-for-nothings. Only a select few inherited their parents’ competence. Wang Wei was, without a doubt, one of the good-for-nothings.
"I understand," Bad Dog said curtly. The thought of speaking to Wang Wei for another second was nauseating. He hung up immediately.
Just then, Wu Tian came out. Drawn by the commotion, a crowd of employees had gathered at the entrance. Many others, including Li Muge, Liang Qingren, and Qin Yuhan, were watching from the windows above.
Wu Tian walked out alone to face the large group. Qin Yuhan immediately called for security, telling them to be ready to intervene. But just as the guards were about to move, Liu Feng discreetly stopped them. Liu Feng would never forget the lesson Wu Tian had taught him.
As Wu Tian emerged, Bad Dog and his closest subordinates froze. A-Da, A-Er, A-San, A-Si, and the hidden Wang Wei, however, failed to notice the change in their expressions.
A-Da stared coldly at Wu Tian and barked, "You’re Gugu’s dad?"
Wu Tian nodded.
"Your daughter offended us. She must apologize," A-Da declared.
