Xavier hadn’t shown up at the hospital these past few days, and he hadn’t pushed her about that special medication, either.
Luckily, Harry had been putting in the work–he’d come up with a new drug combo, and Noah’s condition had stabilized quite a bit.
“Was I not clear enough?” Sander’s voice sounded drained, like every word took effort. “I want the Moore family in chaos. I want them ruined.”
“But-”
“If you’re not willing, you can walk away now.”
Rachel opened her mouth to reply, but Sander cut her off.
“Understood.”
After a short pause, she answered quietly. The line went dead right after.
She turned and looked down the long hallway.
Noah’s private room was at the far end.
Since the last incident, Xavier had assigned two additional caregivers to Noah, but whenever Xavier wasn’t around, Noah sent them away. He preferred being alone—except when Xavier was there.
Rachel began walking slowly toward the mile.

Teresa had just pulled into the garage at Moore Manor. As she stepped out of the car, two bodyguards in dark suits moved to block her path.
“Ms. Moore, Mr. Moore would like to see you.”
They gave a polite nod, but their tone left no room for warmth.
Teresa’s stomach dropped. If Stanley simply wanted to talk, he wouldn’t have sent someone to escort her like this.
Something was wrong.

She asked without thinking, but the men didn’t answer. They just gestured for her to go ahead, urging her firmly toward the house.
Inside Stanley’s study, two rows of bodyguards flanked the entrance. The atmosphere was unusually tense.
Wilson stood off to the side, preparing a drink with careful, deliberate movements. He repeated the same smooth, practiced motions as he poured hot water over the small ceramic pieces time and again.
“What is this, an interrogation?”
Teresa tossed her purse to one of the guards and walked straight up to Stanley.
Stanley was seated on the sofa. An unfinished chess game lay on the table in front of him.
He didn’t look up. “Where were you?”
“Visiting a friend.” Teresa met his gaze directly. “Is that an issue?”
“I heard Isabella has a child.”
Teresa’s composure faltered instantly.
She’d suspected he might have caught wind of something but not this fast.
There was no way Xavier would have brought it up to Stanley.
Linda had given her that photo, and she was the only one who’d seen it. She’d even warned Megan afterward not to spread it around.
“A child? Isabella? You mean her and Xavier having a kid?”
Teresa let out a short laugh and waved a hand, trying to keep it light.
“That woman’s way too tough to be playing mom. Probably just a rumor.”
“Not a pregnancy. A five–year–old child.”
Stanley set down the piece he was holding.
He leaned back into the sofa and looked up slightly. Even through his clouded eyes, the pressure he radiated was unsettling.
“A five–year–old… child?”
Teresa worked hard to keep her expression neutral, giving nothing away.
Behind her, Wilson stood up. He brought over two cups of coffee, setting one in front of Stanley and another before
