She could tell Xavier’s words had been deliberate-a clear warning meant for Stanley.

Xavier had shown the Moores no mercy to this point; Stanley probably wouldn’t hold back toward him anymore either.

“Someone who already hates me deeply isn’t going to care about one more enemy,” Xavier replied evenly.

His answer made Isabella’s heart skip a beat.

His tone was casual, but his actions showed he still cared about Stanley as his grandfather.

He didn’t want Stanley coming at him again, so he’d drawn a firm line first…

But she noticed the little guy wasn’t really scared. Instead, he was glaring hard at Xavier behind her.

Skyler’s look was anything but friendly. Even though his dad had protected Mommy, he still couldn’t forgive him!

He was sure now-the real reason Mommy kept getting hurt was because she was with Dad! Dad’s grandpa was the worst of them all, bullying Mommy more than anyone!

“What’s with the look, kiddo?” Xavier met the boy’s wide, angry eyes and walked over, resting a large hand on his head.

Skyler shoved Xavier’s hand away fiercely. Even without words, he knew how to show he was mad.

“What’s wrong, honey?” Isabella quickly stepped between them, studying Skyler’s flushed little face with worry.

His temperature seemed to spike when he got upset-his cheeks were burning.

“He’s still so little-it’s natural for him to be scared. Please don’t be too hard on him!”

The staff were clearly afraid Xavier might be too rough with the boy.

Xavier had already seen the little fist. A faint smirk touched his lips. “That kind of thinking is how kids get spoiled.”

The nannies didn’t dare reply to his jab, but Skyler was steaming!

“It’s okay, sweetie… Mr. Moore’s just trying to look out for you. Let’s calm down, alright?”

Isabella could see how upset her son was and quickly tried to soothe him.

The specialist had said the treatment would only work if they cooperated. If these two kept clashing, the training wouldn’t help at all. She had to be the peacemaker.

Xavier’s comment was clearly deliberate, and she shot him a sharp look.

But it was strange… The little one had liked Xavier so much before-he’d even called him “Daddy” excitedly.
