Norah’s POV:
Mediterranean, the Cappe family’s private estate.
When our private jet touched down on the exclusive tarmac, Lucien was already waiting for us.

He was dressed in an off–white casual suit, the sunlight hitting him just right, making him look like a prince straight out of a painting–elegant, noble, and distant.
He came out to greet me personally.
“Welcome to the creative camp, Norah.”
Irina and Katarina trailed behind me, their eyes flicking between the palace–like mansion and Lucien’s all- business demeanor. They couldn’t help but roll their eyes.
Lucien had arranged a standalone villa for our team, facing the sea with a killer view.
When the butler showed me to the penthouse suite, I froze.
The room was filled with the scent of my favorite white tea candle.
Soft cashmere rugs, custom–made silk bedding, even the toiletries in the bathroom were exactly the same as the ones I’d used three years ago in his apartment.
At the welcome dinner, Lucien didn’t bother me.
He held his wine glass, playing the perfect business partner, chatting with us about the project’s market potential, design concepts, and marketing channels.
His calm, professional vibe made it feel like all those heated fights, the mess, and the standoffs never happened.
“I heard that new oil tycoon from South America bough the entire building next to Nightingale’s flagship store in Dubai just to meet you?” Irina lazily swirled her wine, eyes glinting as she glanced at Lucien. “Norah, your charm just keeps getting bigger.”
Lucien paused mid–cut on his steak.
He looked up, smiled, and raised his glass. “Is that so? Norah definitely deserves the best.”
His voice was steady, but I caught the veins bulging on his hand gripping the knife and fork.
After dinner, I needed some air and slipped away alone o the estate’s massive library.
Tall mahogany bookshelves stretched all the way to the eiling, the air thick with the smell of paper and ink.
I grabbed a random book and flipped through it.
“Like it here?”
A deep, magnetic voice sounded behind me.
I stiffened but didn’t turn around.

Chapter 200
Lucien had followed me.
He brushed past me and pulled down a thick, yellowed book from the top shelf.

He flipped to one of the pages and, with a voice that could make any woman melt, softly started reading aloud.
I am a desperate person
Words without echoes
Losing everything
Having everything
The final cable
You hold onto my last longing.
You are the last rose on my barren land.
The poem was beautiful.
And he read it damn well.
But he wasn’t really reading poetry–he was testing me.
He closed the book and finally locked eyes with me. Those deep, piercing eyes seemed like they could strip away every bit of my disguise and guard.
“Some things you think you’ve lost, but if you really try you can always find them again. What do you think, Norah?”
I put the book back on the shelf and turned around.
“The poem’s beautiful, but I’m tired. Too drained to appreciate it.”
I walked past him, feeling that burning gaze drilling into my back, following me like a shadow.
That night, the Mediterranean weather flipped on a dine.
Wild winds whipped up a storm, slamming rain against the windows like fists.
Lightning cracked and thunder roared, like the sky wasipping apart.
I woke up from a nightmare, heart pounding, drenched in cold sweat.
I dreamed Lucien found Leo and Luma. He smiled and old me they belonged to the Constantine family and had to go back to him.
hen, right in front of me, he snatched my kids away by force.

Chapter 200
Leo and Luna cried out, “Mommy!” but no matter how hard I ran, I couldn’t catch up….
I threw back the covers and got up to get a glass of water in the living room.
Through the huge floor–to–ceiling window, I saw that familiar figure in the garden.
It was Lucien.
No umbrella, just a thin black shirt, letting the cold rain soak him through.
He stood there, quiet and still, looking lonely and fragile–like a wild beast abandoned and lost.
My heart jerked uncontrollably.
Just as I was about to pull the curtains shut, forcing myself not to look-
“Snap!”
All the lights in the mansion went out. Pitch black. Nothing visible.
“Boom-!”

A bolt of lightning tore through the night sky, followed by a deafening crack of thunder that shook the air around me.
Darkness.
Loud noise.
The cold iron rod smashing down in that abandoned warehouse.
The kidnappers‘ cruel, grinning faces.
All the fear I’d been trying so hard to bury came rushing back like a flood, drowning me in an instant.
“Ahhh-!”
I couldn’t hold back a scream, clutching my head and curling up in the corner, shaking uncontrollably.
Footsteps echoed in the dark.
Don’t come near…
Don’t touch me…
I lifted my head in terror.
All I could see was a faint, flickering light moving quickly toward me.
“Click.”
The sound of a lighter.
“he firelight flickered, casting the glow on a familiar face.

He was soaked to the bone, his black shirt clinging tight to his body, every muscle clearly outlined.
His wet hair stuck to his forehead, droplets sliding down his face.
“Norah…”
He stepped toward me, reaching out, like he wanted to hold me.
“No!”
I backed away like a scared cat, hands and feet scrambling, until my back hit the cold wall—I couldn’t move any further.
“Don’t come near me! Don’t touch me!” My voice shook trembling with fear and tears.
His hand froze mid–air.
He didn’t move closer.
He stopped a few steps away, then slowly crouched down.
The lighter’s flame went out, and the world slipped back into darkness.
But he didn’t leave.
He just stayed there, crouched down, using his tall frame to block the cold wind sneaking in through the window crack.
“Norah,” his voice broke through the dark, soft and helpless.
“It’s just thunder.”
“I’m here. Don’t be afraid.”
