I cried until my throat was raw, until the storm inside me finally stilled, leaving something cold and hard in its wake.

“He’s not interested in me?” My voice was rough but clear. “Then I’ll make it impossible for him to look away.”

Irina and Katarina stared. “Norah…”

“I’m not surrendering.” I stood, my legs steady beneath me for the first time since I’d returned. I walked to the full–length mirror and faced the woman there–disheveled, eyes puffy, but fierce. “He owes Amélie a life. But he owes me an explanation.”

I turned to them, my reflection squaring its shoulders behind me.

“He thinks he loves her now? He thinks his heart and body have no place left for me?” I shook my head slowly. “No. That’s not how this ends.”

“Lucien Constantine,” I said, the name a vow, “from the inside out, from his most basic instincts to the deepest part of his soul—he is mine. He just doesn’t remember yet.”

Irina’s lips curved, her eyes bright with approval. “That’s the Norah I know. What do you need?”

“His schedule. Everything for the next week.” I paused, a plan crystalizing. “And I need a new wardrobe. Not just clothes–weapons. I’m going to dress for a war he doesn’t even know he’s fighting.”

Katarina leaned forward. “What kind of weapons?”

“Ones that remind him,” I said quietly. “Ones that speak to his body before his mind can argue. I’m going to wear every memory he thinks he buried.”

“Then I’ll make resistance feel like forgetting how to breathe.” My voice dropped, certainty hardening in my chest. “He thinks he’s in control. He thinks his heart is settled. I’m going to unravel all of it–slowly, beautifully, until the only truth he knows is me.”

Irina grinned. “We’ll get you ready. Hair, dress, scent–everything.”

“Not just ready,” I corrected, meeting my own gaze in the mirror. “Unforgettable.”
