Mr. and Mrs. Hill both tensed up. “Who are you?”
“I am an enemy of Steven’s,” Anastasia said bluntly. “I’d like to discuss a collaboration with you.”
Mr. and Mrs. Hill’s expressions changed simultaneously. After a moment, Mr. Hill stepped aside. “Please, come in.”
The apartment was small. Even though its owners clearly tried to keep it clean, the lack of space and abundance of belongings made it look cluttered.
According to the files Anastasia had read, Mr. and Mrs. Hill, while not from exceptionally privileged backgrounds, were urban professionals who had lived a comfortable, middle-class life. They should not have been living in a place like this, in such a destitute state.
It was obvious that their fight to get justice for their son had led them to this.
Casting her gaze aside as if she hadn’t noticed, Anastasia got straight to the point. “I know that for the past few years, you’ve never given up on exposing Steven, but you haven’t succeeded. This time, I’m not asking you to do anything different. I just need you to step forward and reveal his crimes. I can guarantee that this time, you will not fail.”
Mr. and Mrs. Hill exchanged a look, their eyes cautious as they studied her. “May we ask what kind of grudge you have against Steven?”
Anastasia understood their wariness. She knew they had been deceived before; Steven had arranged for someone to pretend to help them, only to trick them out of nearly everything they owned.
Without saying much, Anastasia had her bodyguard hand them one of Harrison's business cards.
They were both stunned to see it.
Mr. Harrison Lancaster…?!
