Lilian looked genuinely touched. “Yeah, I didn’t realize they were doing all that. It caught me off guard. Honestly, I feel like a bit of a jerk. It’s been way too long since I’ve checked in on them.”

Lilian looked at them and laughed. “Oh, you’re still here? I forgot you even existed.” If Karina hadn’t dragged them in, she wouldn’t have given them a second thought.

Chloe glared at Lilian. “Lilian, tell them to let us go right now or I’m calling the cops for kidnapping.”

She’d tried to sneak out with the press, but she got caught and brought up here. She was definitely starting to sweat.

Lilian stood up and walked over to Chloe. “Call the cops? Please do. We can talk to them together about all the lies you’ve been spreading online. Let’s see how they feel about your little smear campaign.”

Chloe looked shaken. “What are you talking about? I didn’t post any lies.”
