Rewrite Her Thrilling Life (Lillian and Sebastian) novel Chapter 1115

The Whitmore estate was silent. Everyone sat in the dining room, picking at their food without a word. Their faces were heavy with worry, but no one dared to speak.

Since returning the previous night, they had maintained a strict code of silence regarding the gala. Greg was still recovering, and they were terrified that any news about Sebastian’s condition would cause a relapse. If he were pushed into another state of high stress or shock, the consequences would be catastrophic.

Jared looked at his plate and let out a heavy sigh. He could not stop thinking about how the grudges of the older generation had landed so squarely on his son's shoulders. He wondered how Sebastian was holding up or if he was holding up at all.

Suddenly, a sharp crash echoed through the house. It was the sound of glass shattering against a hard floor.

The family jumped up and rushed toward Greg’s bedroom. They pushed the door open to find a scene of total chaos. Food and glass were scattered across the floor. Greg was sitting up in bed, his face flushed a deep and angry red as he clutched his chest and coughed violently.

Two nurses stood in the corner, trembling with fear.

Jared rushed to the bedside and began rubbing Greg’s back. "Dad! What happened? Why is everything on the floor?" He then turned to the nurses and snapped, "How are you looking after him? If you can not do your jobs properly, you can leave right now!"

The nurses looked at Jared with tearful eyes, clearly wanting to defend themselves but too afraid to speak. They had not done anything intentional. They had simply been chatting with Greg to keep him entertained. When the conversation turned to the morning's headlines, they had realized too late that the Sebastian in the news was Greg’s grandson.

Greg finally stopped coughing. He caught his breath and fixed Jared with a piercing stare. "Do not yell at them. I am asking you right now. Is something wrong with Sebastian?"

Greg’s gaze remained sharp. "Even so, you should not have hidden something this massive from me. Sebastian is my grandson. I have every right to know if he is dying."

Jared looked at the nurses and said coldly, "Both of you, get out."

He was fuming. He had locked down the house to protect his father, only for two talkative nurses to blow the whole thing wide open.

The nurses scrambled out of the room and shut the door behind them. Jared’s expression turned solemn as he turned back to his father. "Dad, do you really want the truth about what happened?"
