Richard lowered his head. "I understand, Grandpa. If there is nothing else, I will take my leave."

Once Richard had left, Callen picked up his phone and dialed a number. "I hear Sebastian is on his deathbed."

"Excellent. We can cooperate when the time comes."

Derrick looked at Greg as he was wheeled into the room, his eyes widening in surprise. "Dad? What are you doing here?"

If I had been more careful, she never would have had the chance. Sebastian would not be lying there like this. It is all on me."

Derrick suppressed his own grief to comfort her. "It is not your fault. You did your best. That girl was incredibly cunning. Do not blame yourself. We have to have faith. Sebastian has cheated death so many times before. He will survive this too."

"He is right, Uriel. Do not lose heart," Ruby added. "Lilian loves him more than anything. She will not let him go. We just have to be patient and wait for the good news. I am sure she will bring him back to us."
