Chapter 184: Catching Up

Lillian carefully reached into her bag and pulled out a delicate porcelain bottle, which she then offered to Mr. Larson. “Mr. Larson, this is my newest creation, the Light Pill. It hasn’t officially been released by the company yet, but I tweaked the formula in this batch—the effect is much stronger, capable of repairing the body at its very core.”

Without a moment’s hesitation, Mr. Larson accepted the bottle, his trust in Lillian’s medical expertise absolute. With a warm smile, he said, “I’ll gladly take it, then.”

They exchanged a few more words, the atmosphere relaxed and friendly, until the sound of steady footsteps announced Jacob’s arrival. When his gaze landed on the young woman seated on the sofa, he paused, momentarily stunned. The little girl he remembered from two years ago had blossomed into a stunning woman. The innocence of youth had faded, replaced by an elegant, refined beauty that was impossible to ignore.

Lillian caught his eyes and teased lightly, “Two years have passed, and you don’t even recognize me?”

Jacob’s face remained composed, but the energy radiating from him betrayed his excitement. “You little troublemaker, why didn’t you call me when you came? If Jack hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t have known you were here at all.”

A soft laugh escaped Lillian’s lips. “I wanted to surprise you. So? Were you shocked?”

Before Jacob could respond, Mr. Larson emerged from the study, his voice filled with enthusiasm. “Lillian, my dear, I feel a rush of heat coursing through me. I’m full of energy, strong as ever, like I have endless vitality.”

Lillian glanced at his complexion, a satisfied nod following. “Mm, the medicine is working just as I hoped. Keep up with your daily exercises, and you’ll live a long, peaceful life—easily to a hundred.”

Mr. Larson looked proudly at his son. “Well, don’t I look as strong and heroic as I did in my younger days?”

Jacob studied his father’s vibrant face thoughtfully. For the past two years, although the old illnesses hadn’t returned, his father’s spirit had been subdued. But now, he seemed to have regained the vigor of his prime. Smiling, Jacob remarked, “With how you look now, if you walked outside and told people I’m your son, no one would believe it.”
