Chapter 258: A Dazzling Display

The nurse hurried away briskly, intent on gathering the necessary medical supplies without delay.

Lillian turned her attention to the elderly man seated nearby. “Mr. Geo, you really should rest. What’s coming is going to be intense—bloody even. I don’t want you to overexert yourself,” she advised gently, concern flickering in her eyes.

Geo dismissed her worries with a wave of his hand. “Don’t trouble yourself on my account. Today, I want to see firsthand exactly what kind of tricks Radovia’s scoundrels have been up to,” he said, his voice steady with determination.

Recognizing the firmness in his resolve, Lillian chose not to press the issue further. Fawks moved quickly, pulling over a chair and placing it beside Geo. “Sir, please sit here and watch,” he urged respectfully.

Without hesitation, Geo nodded and settled into the seat, his gaze fixed and unyielding.

The nurse soon returned, carrying the items Lillian had requested. She glanced briefly at Jorge before speaking softly, “In a moment, you’ll need to hold his limbs down. Don’t let him thrash about.”

Jorge’s expression turned solemn as he nodded in agreement. Morris motioned to several others nearby, preparing for the possibility that the situation might escalate beyond control.

An expectant hush fell over the ward. Every eye was riveted on Lillian as she prepared to begin.

She signaled to the nurse to hang fresh bags of blood, then deftly slipped a slender silver needle from her jade bracelet. Her fingers, delicate yet precise, gripped the instrument with practiced ease. In one fluid, almost graceful motion, she inserted nine needles into key acupoints on the patient’s body, channeling spiritual energy steadily through each one.

Within moments, the patient’s body began to tremble—first with a faint quiver, then escalating into violent convulsions. Jorge and the medical staff sprang into action, pressing him firmly to the bed to keep him restrained.

Without hesitation, Lillian seized a scalpel and expertly sliced through the arteries in his limbs.

Blood erupted in a sudden, forceful spray. Beneath the swollen veins, something writhed and squirmed, moving desperately toward the incisions. One after another, grotesque, worm-like creatures emerged, writhing briefly in agony before falling still as they landed in buckets filled with ice.

Even the most experienced among the staff felt their stomachs churn at the unsettling sight.

After half an hour of meticulous work, once Lillian had confirmed that every parasite and egg had been expelled, she reached into her bag and withdrew a small vial. She sprinkled a fine powder over the open wounds. Before their very eyes, the bleeding ceased, scabs formed rapidly, and the flesh began knitting itself back together. Only then did she carefully withdraw the needles.

Checking the patient’s pulse, she noted the rhythm was steady and strong. Turning to Jorge, she said confidently, “It’s done. The parasites are gone. With some rest, he’ll be back on his feet in no time.”

From her bag, she handed Jorge another bottle. “When he wakes, give him one pill a day. It will speed up his recovery.”

The room, which had been silent and tense, slowly came back to life.
