Chapter 276: Stirring the Pot
Hans offered a warm smile, his tone smooth and confident as he spoke. “That’s Mr. Ryan, one of the three presidents of Skyreach Group. I’m sure you’ve all at least heard of him; after all, Ms. Harrington and Mr. Ryan share a rather close connection.”
Manny’s curiosity piqued immediately. “Skyreach Group? You mean that secretive company that’s been skyrocketing over the past few years?”
Hans’s lips curved into a subtle, knowing smile. “Exactly. Ms. Harrington has a good rapport not only with Mr. Ryan but also with Mr. Wayne. Are you telling me none of you were aware of this?”
Though the words seemed casual enough, the insinuation was unmistakable—Hans was subtly casting Lillian as a temptress, someone who wielded influence through personal ties.
Manny turned toward Lillian, brows furrowed in confusion. He had always sensed there was more to her than met the eye. On the surface, she appeared to be just a typical high school girl, but each time they had met, it had been in places like Kingston or Hong Kong. Cameron had once mentioned that Lillian had saved Sebastian’s life.
And now, it seemed she was acquainted with Mr. Geo and had connections to Skyreach Group. All the clues pointed to the same conclusion: this girl was far from ordinary.
Noreen sneered, a sharp glint flashing in her eyes. From the beginning, she had suspected Lillian was anything but simple, but she hadn’t expected her to reveal her true colors so quickly.
Fawks, on the other hand, didn’t give it much thought. Given Lillian’s medical expertise, it wasn’t surprising that she would have some connections; after all, Skyreach Group’s pharmaceutical division had been making waves in the industry for the past two years. Cooperation between them seemed only natural.
Lillian’s gaze cooled as it slid toward Hans, a mocking smile tugging at the corner of her lips. “Ms. Hans, you really do keep a close eye on my personal affairs. No wonder you’ve vanished from television lately—you’ve been far too busy focusing on me. But do me a favor and save yourself the trouble next time.”
Hans’s face darkened immediately. She hadn’t filmed anything in the last six months; her career had hit a slump. She had even tried reaching out to Wayne privately, only to be flatly rejected without so much as a meeting.
