Chapter 337 ME Corp Mr Wynn
Cameron frowned and said, “He really said that.” Because Lillian had close ties with Skyreach Group, he had originally wanted to do them a favor, hoping to look good in front of her. But things had not turned out the way he expected.
Rachel spoke bluntly. “Yeah, he didn’t even bother to show ME Corp the slightest bit of respect.”
“Unbelievable,” Cameron muttered, then immediately picked up his phone and dialed a number.
Meanwhile, in the top floor office of Skyreach Group, Lillian and her team were in the middle of discussing upcoming work matters when a phone began to ting.
Wayne pulled out his phone, frowned slightly, and looked toward Lillian. “It’s Mr. Wynn from ME Corp.”
Lillian sneered. “Answer it.”
“Hello, Mr. Wynn,” Wayne said as he put the call on speaker.
Cameron let out a cold laugh. “Mr. Wayne, quite the authority you’ve got. Our ME Corp came knocking for a collaboration, yet not only did you refuse, you even scolded one of our company’s actors. What exactly do you mean by that?”
Wayne chuckled lightly. “Nothing much. I’ve already passed on everything that needed to be said to Ms. Lisa from your company. It’s just that our firm is small – we can’t accommodate you. So there’s no need for you to come here throwing your weight around, putting on some superior act for everyone to see.”
Cameron’s eyes turned cold. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
At that, Lillian was sure Lisa had only told him half the story and deliberately left out the other half. She laughed. “Mr. Wynn, showing off your power now? Or is it just that your little beauty got slighted and you can’t bear to see her hurt?”
The sound of a woman’s voice on the line caught Cameron off guard. He hesitated, then asked cautiously, “Lillian?”
Lillian gave a mocking laugh. “Mr. Wynn, such a forgetful man. What, a few days apart and you can’t even recognize my voice anymore?”
Lisa, seeing the man’s suddenly careful manner, felt a wave of unease and cast an uncertain glance at Rachel beside her.
Cameron shoved away the woman leaning on him, then smiled into the phone. “Lillian, don’t tease me like that. What’s really going on here?”
“Why? Didn’t your little beauty tell you the message I asked her to pass along?” Lillian replied.
Cameron’s eyes darkened as he glanced sharply at Lisa. His voice turned pleading. “I was wrong, it’s all my fault, every bit of it. Please, just don’t tell Sebastian. If he finds out, I’m finished.” He knew full well that with the way Sebastian doted on Lillian, if he ever learned of this, he’d skin him alive.
—
Watching him grovel, Lisa’s unease only deepened. A chill ran through her she had the sinking feeling they had run headfirst into serious trouble this time.
Lillian teased, laughing softly. “That depends on how you behave. And one more thing – don’t tell Sebastian that I’ve come to Kingston.”
“No problem, no problem at all. You’re practically my ancestor now. Whatever you say goes,” Cameron fawned.
