Rewrite Her Thrilling Life (Lillian and Sebastian) novel Chapter 372

**The Billionaire’s Last Obsession series 372**
**Chapter 372: The First Day of School**

As Sebastian descended the staircase, his mind was a turbulent sea of thoughts, each wave crashing against the shores of his consciousness. The weight of his responsibilities bore heavily upon him, but as he reached the bottom, his gaze fell upon Lillian, who was seated at the dining table, utterly engrossed in a book. The soft light of the morning illuminated her features, casting a warm glow around her, but it was the small red pill she held delicately in her hand that drew his attention.

Intrigued yet concerned, he approached her, his brow furrowing with a mix of apprehension and curiosity. “What’s that you have there?” he asked, his voice betraying a hint of urgency.

Lillian looked up from her reading, her expression serious and contemplative. “Mr. Geo gave it to me. He asked me to study it,” she replied, her voice calm, yet Sebastian could sense an undercurrent of anxiety lurking just beneath the surface.

Sebastian’s eyes narrowed, a protective instinct flaring within him. “Is it something difficult?” he pressed, feeling the tension in the air like a thick fog.

She nodded slowly, her brow furrowing in thought. “It’s tricky, but I’ll manage. What really worries me is that this pill resembles the drug you were given recently and the one Ryan encountered before. They all share unsettling similarities. I need to figure out what connects them.”

A pang of dread gripped Sebastian’s heart as he reached out, gently taking the pill from her fingers. He examined it closely, the urgency in his voice rising. “Are you absolutely certain about that?”

Lillian shook her head, her expression a mixture of determination and fear. “Not entirely. But it’s evident that all three contain substances that disrupt brain function. I just can’t tell if they’re the same compound or not.”

Seeing the deep worry etched on her face, Sebastian instinctively reached out, his fingers brushing through her hair in a soothing gesture. “Don’t rush into anything. Take your time. I believe in your ability to unravel this,” he reassured her, his voice softening as he sought to comfort her.

Lillian grasped his hand tightly, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. “I’m terrified, Sebastian. What if next time, I’m not there to protect you? What happens then? Do you know how many times I’ve replayed that night in my mind? What if I hadn’t gone with you to the Lindt family? What if I hadn’t pulled you out in time? What if…”

“Stop,” he interrupted firmly, yet his tone remained gentle. “Don’t let your mind spiral into those dark thoughts. I won’t allow them to have another chance at us. So please, don’t worry, alright?”

With a deep, shuddering sigh, Lillian leaned against him, tears cascading down her cheeks like silent rivers. “Sebastian, promise me you’ll never leave me alone. I couldn’t bear it if you did.”

When someone burrows deep into your heart, claiming it entirely, their safety and happiness become paramount. Any threat to that bond feels like a wound that may never heal.

As September first dawned, it marked the beginning of a new academic year. Kingston University had initiated its registration process at the end of August, but due to pressing matters at the company, Lillian’s arrival was delayed until the official opening day.

Meticulously packing her belongings, Lillian found herself in a playful tug-of-war with Sebastian, who kept pulling clothes out of her suitcase, his antics reminiscent of a child reluctant to let go.

Watching his playful behavior, Lillian couldn’t suppress her laughter. “It’s not like I’m disappearing forever! We agreed I’d stay for at least two months. I’ve never experienced dorm life before—let me have this adventure!”
