**The Billionaire’s Last Obsession Series 419**
**Chapter 419: Rosie’s Apology**
Isabelle leaned in closer to Lillian, her voice barely above a whisper, yet laced with urgency. “It seems like trouble is brewing, don’t you think?”
Lillian, slightly startled by the sudden intensity in Isabelle’s tone, turned her head to see Jeremy striding toward them with an expression that hinted at discomfort. “Lillian, are you done?” he asked, his voice carrying an undertone of anxiety.
With a nod, Lillian replied, “Yeah, I just finished up. What’s going on?”
Jeremy shifted his weight awkwardly, his cheeks tinged with embarrassment. “I’m really sorry… When Rosie confronted you earlier, I had no idea it would escalate like that. So today, I invited her here to apologize.”
Lillian’s gaze flickered over to Rosie, who stood off to the side, clearly unhappy, her arms crossed defensively. A cold laugh escaped Lillian’s lips. “No need for that. Honestly, she hasn’t done anything wrong. She’s merely pursuing her own happiness; she perceives every woman around you as a threat, that’s all. It’s not entirely her fault. But I would recommend she see a psychiatrist when she has the chance; paranoia can be a frightening beast when it spirals out of control.”
“You—” Rosie’s eyes flared with fury, her voice trembling as she glared at Lillian.
“What? Did I speak any untruths? Did you not view me as an enemy? Did you not assume Jeremy and I were close? Did you not come to warn me in person?” Lillian’s voice rose, sharp and unwavering, each word cutting through the tension in the air.
“If a woman believes she can capture a man’s heart by constantly undermining other women, she’s bound to fail.”
Jeremy’s expression softened with regret as he turned to Lillian, his voice earnest. “I’m really sorry. I just wanted to enjoy a simple meal; I never anticipated it would lead to all this chaos.”
“It’s alright. None of this is truly your fault, so there’s no need for you to apologize,” Lillian reassured him. From start to finish, Jeremy had merely been an innocent bystander caught in the storm.
With a newfound determination, Jeremy faced Rosie. “I want you to apologize to Lillian.”
Rosie’s eyes glistened with unshed tears, her stubbornness palpable. “You really want me to apologize to her?”
“Yes,” Jeremy affirmed, his tone leaving no room for negotiation.
Rosie shot Lillian a venomous glare, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “I’m sorry, Miss.” With that, she turned sharply on her heel and stormed away, her footsteps echoing her anger.
Jeremy watched her retreating figure with a heavy sigh. “She’s just a classmate. She confessed her feelings to me once, but I turned her down. I never imagined she would come after you like this.”
