Rewrite Her Thrilling Life (Lillian and Sebastian) novel Chapter 444

**The Billionaire’s Last Obsession series 444**
**Chapter 444 The Matter Settled**

Lillian surveyed the room, her sharp gaze piercing through the tension that hung in the air like a thick fog. A sneer crept onto her lips, a playful yet menacing expression. “What’s this? No one willing to step forward and take responsibility? Think carefully—if you confess now, I might just consider letting it slide, out of respect for your honesty. But mark my words, once I unveil the evidence, don’t come crying to me about our past connections.”

Before she could finish her thought, a sudden commotion erupted. “I’ll talk!” Winona’s agent, Hailey, shot up from her seat, her voice trembling with anxiety. “It was me who sabotaged Kayla’s shoes. Winona ordered me to do it. I didn’t want to, but I felt trapped. As agents, we’re just cogs in the machine, following orders.”

Winona’s expression morphed into one of disbelief, her eyes narrowing into slits as fury coursed through her veins. “You dare betray me, Hailey? After all these years of loyalty, you choose this moment to sell me out?”

Hailey, her voice rising, retorted sharply, “I had no other option! Yes, I’ve been by your side for years, but I’ve also helped you carry out more than a few shady dealings, haven’t I? I’ve tiptoed around your moods and whims, and I’m done!”

Winona opened her mouth, ready to unleash a torrent of anger, but Lillian interjected, her voice cutting through the tension like a knife. “That’s enough. No need for further words. A simple test was all it took to reveal your true natures.” She turned her head towards the door, her voice commanding. “Wayne, come in.”

Wayne entered, his hands empty, his demeanor calm yet alert.

Winona’s eyes flashed with venom as she glared at Lillian. “You set me up.”

“Indeed, I did,” Lillian replied, reclining in her chair with an air of casual confidence. A cold smile curled on her lips, betraying her satisfaction. “I played you, Winona. And what will you do about it? They say secrets have a way of surfacing; if you had the courage to act, why shouldn’t I employ a little trickery to force your confession? If your conscience were truly clear, no trick of mine would have worked—don’t you think?”

Feeling the weight of her defeat, Winona sank back into her chair, the fight visibly leaving her.

Lillian’s tone shifted, becoming steely as she addressed both women. “I tolerate rivalries, but if, at a crucial moment, you fail to grasp the bigger picture—if you’re willing to jeopardize the company’s future and undermine the hard work of countless individuals for your selfish ambitions—then I’m afraid there’s no place for you in Skyreach Group. You’d do well to seek your fortunes elsewhere.”
