Rewrite Her Thrilling Life (Lillian and Sebastian) novel Chapter 478

**The Billionaire’s Last Obsession series 478**

**Chapter 478: Laney’s Confession**

“I…” Laney’s face was a canvas of uncertainty, her features taut with anxiety.

Tears glistened in her eyes, threatening to spill over, and her voice trembled as she forced the words out, “Sebastian, I have feelings for you. From the very first moment I laid eyes on you, I was drawn to you. Yes, I admit it—I kept showing up outside Pavilion Hall. I just wanted to catch a glimpse of you, even if it meant watching from a distance. I know what I did was inappropriate; I don’t expect you to forgive me. I merely wanted to express how I feel. You shouldn’t feel any obligation.”

In any other circumstance, a man might have softened at the sight of her vulnerability, but Sebastian remained unmoved, his heart encased in ice, untouched by her emotional turmoil.

A flicker of contempt flashed in Sebastian’s gaze, his lips curling into a sneer. “I don’t feel burdened at all. To put it plainly, aside from Lillian, no other woman has ever made the slightest impact on me. Do you honestly believe I would take your so-called confession seriously?”

Laney’s eyes widened in disbelief, her heart racing. “That can’t be true. If I meant nothing to you, why would you have instructed your man to save me that night?”

Sebastian’s voice was as frigid as the winter air. “The only reason Unno intervened that night was because you claimed to be Lillian’s roommate. If you hadn’t had that connection, do you really think I would have bothered with a stranger’s dilemma?”

Laney shook her head vigorously, her conviction unwavering. “No, Sebastian—I truly believe you remembered me. That night, you didn’t just have Unno rescue me; you asked him to take me back to campus. Isn’t that a sign that you cared, even just a little?”

Sebastian let out a derisive laugh, the sound sharp and cutting. “You genuinely think I sent Unno because I was concerned for you? Don’t flatter yourself. My only worry was that if something happened to you, Lillian would be upset. That’s the sole reason I acted.”

Hurt flashed across Laney’s features like a storm cloud rolling in. She bit her lip, trying to suppress the wave of emotion threatening to overwhelm her. “Sebastian, must you always say things that cut so deeply?”
