The car came to a halt right in front of the girls’ dormitory, the engine purring softly before silence enveloped the air.

Foster, ever the diligent assistant, glanced up at Sebastian, his brow slightly furrowed. “Mr. Whitmore, should I reach out to Ms. Winona? She might have some insight into Ms. Harrington’s whereabouts,” he suggested, his tone both respectful and hopeful.

There was a slight pause on the other end as Elsie processed the information. “Ah, you’re the special assistant! Hello there. No, Lillian isn’t here with us. If my memory serves me right, she’s definitely in the lab at this hour.”

“Understood. Thank you for your help, Ms. Winona.” Foster ended the call, a sense of purpose igniting within him.

From the back seat, a voice, cold as ice, cut through the air. “To the lab.”

Foster gripped the steering wheel with renewed determination, pivoting the car sharply towards the research building, the tires crunching over gravel as they sped away.

Just then, a figure emerged from the dormitory’s entrance. It was Laney, her gaze fixed on the car as it vanished into the distance.
