Rewrite Her Thrilling Life (Lillian and Sebastian) novel Chapter 657

**Chapter 657: Nicholas’s Plot**

Audrey’s lips curled into a self-satisfied grin, her eyes sparkling with a mix of triumph and disbelief. “And here I thought she was some kind of wonder woman. Turns out she’s just… ordinary. I really gave her too much credit. Seems like Lyla’s intel was way off base.” She leaned back in her chair, a sense of vindication washing over her.

Madison, her mother, glanced over with a hint of concern etched on her face. “Are you still in contact with that Lyla?” she inquired, her tone casual yet probing.

Audrey nodded, her enthusiasm waning. “Yeah, she’s the only person in Kingston I can have a decent conversation with.” There was a hint of boredom in her voice, as if the connection had lost its spark.

Suddenly, a thought struck Madison, and her eyes lit up with curiosity. “You mentioned you had a crush on someone. How did that pan out? Any progress?”

The moment the question left her lips, Audrey’s demeanor deflated like a balloon losing air. “Forget it,” she sighed, a shadow crossing her features. “Lyla mentioned that guy has a heart of stone. Apart from his fiancée, he’s as cold as ice to every other woman. Do you really think I should keep trying to break through that wall?” A shiver of inexplicable fear coursed through her whenever she thought of him.

Seeing the disappointment etched on her daughter’s face, Madison offered a comforting smile. “That’s perfectly alright. If he doesn’t see your worth, then it’s his loss. You’re exceptional, my dear; you deserve someone who appreciates you fully. Remember, you are a young lady of the Philips family. When we return overseas, I promise to find you the best match.”

Audrey managed a bitter smile, her heart heavy. “Yes, I know.”

Meanwhile, in the dimly lit basement of the villa, Nicholas lounged on a solitary sofa, his gaze fixated on the flickering screen mounted on the wall.

When the news of Lilian’s injury reached him, a chilling, malevolent smile crept onto his lips. He murmured to himself, “Lilian, oh Lilian… it seems my ‘medicine man’ was not in vain after all. Once I have you under my control, I’ll be eager to see how you manage to escape my clutches. At that point, let’s see if that Sebastian of yours will not bow to my every command.”

The thought of everything unfolding according to his meticulously crafted plan sent a shiver of pleasure down his spine. Nicholas let out a hoarse, sinister laugh that echoed eerily through the dim basement, reverberating off the cold concrete walls.

In the lavish presidential suite of the Grande Hotel, Gray was seething with rage. He glared at Ivan, his frustration palpable. “You tell me. What’s our next move? How am I supposed to explain this debacle to the higher-ups?”
