**The Billionaire’s Last Obsession series 679**
**Chapter 679 Investigation**
Lilian shrugged nonchalantly, her tone steady and unwavering. “Don’t overthink it too much. It’s just one of my peculiarities: if I can’t see the person I’m longing to meet, I spiral into a state of misery that makes sleep impossible. So, the crux of the matter is that I refuse to leave this place until I lay my eyes on Dr. Jerome today.” With that declaration hanging in the air, she walked over to a nearby sofa, her movements deliberate, as if she were preparing herself for an extended vigil.
The atmosphere around her shifted, the other occupants falling into an uneasy silence, the weight of her words settling over them like a heavy blanket.
Moments later, the shrill ring of a phone broke the silence. Lilian swiftly retrieved her phone and answered without hesitation.
“Miss, Dr. Jerome is currently at Solara Hospital. Would you like me to bring him to you?” Unno’s voice resonated through the receiver, clear and professional.
Lilian turned her gaze toward Ginnie, her eyes sharp. “Yes, please bring him here. I am at the Yale family residence. Do you have the address?”
“I have it,” Unno confirmed. “I’m dispatching men to your location right now. Additionally, I’ve just sent over his profile to your phone. Take a look at it when you can.”
“Understood,” Lilian replied, ending the call with a click. She then fixed Ginnie with a pointed look, a hint of mockery dancing in her expression. “Your information seems to be a bit off. Dr. Jerome is clearly at Solara, yet you insisted he wasn’t. What’s the deal? Is Dr. Jerome really that elusive?”
Ginnie’s face tightened with tension, her composure faltering. “You must be joking,” she replied, her voice lacking its usual firmness. “There’s nothing secretive about him at all. Perhaps he just returned, and I wasn’t informed.”
Lilian nodded, her expression contemplative. “Ah, I see. It appears I misjudged a seemingly gentle soul who harbors the heart of a villain. I hope you won’t hold this against me. I’m still young and a bit naïve. I’ve read so many novels that my imagination often wanders into all sorts of plots about scheming against the main daughter. Please don’t take it personally.”
Her comment sent Jill into fits of laughter, the sound ringing out like music in the tense room.
