Rewrite Her Thrilling Life (Lillian and Sebastian) novel Chapter 78

The helicopter’s door swung open with a sudden gust, and a tall, commanding figure stepped out briskly. In the fading light, his sharp features were impossible to miss—handsome in a way that was both captivating and slightly dangerous. The black trench coat he wore fluttered dramatically in the chilly breeze, and the cold intensity radiating from him seemed to lower the temperature around them, wrapping the night in an icy silence.

Lilian stood there, stunned and disoriented, unable to grasp why he had come. Before she could gather her thoughts, the man’s arms wrapped around her in a firm, urgent embrace.

Her body trembled with cold, her heart raced wildly against his chest, and everything felt overwhelmingly real. After a moment, struggling to catch her breath, she whispered hoarsely, “You’re holding me too tightly… I can’t breathe…”

Immediately, Sebastian eased his grasp. But the sight of her pale complexion, the cold sweat beading on her forehead, and the thin trickle of blood running down her arm ignited a fierce urgency in him. Without hesitation, he scooped her up into his arms and strode purposefully toward the helicopter.

“Tell Dr. Will Li to prepare for our arrival at Light Estate,” he commanded Foster without looking back. “And get every detail about what happened.” Then, carrying her carefully, he climbed aboard.

Inside the cabin, Sebastian gently brushed damp strands of hair from Lilian’s sweat-soaked face. Her pain was unmistakable, yet she made no sound. That quiet endurance pierced something deep within him, tightening his chest and making it difficult to breathe.

“Sebastian… why are you here?” Lilian murmured, her voice barely audible, teeth clenched as she fought the burning fever coursing through her body.

He didn’t answer. The fury that had consumed him since Unno’s call, informing him that Lilian had been taken, was still raw and unyielding. His entire being had frozen in that moment, as if his heart had stopped beating altogether.

Terror and panic had surged through him like a tidal wave. He had mobilized every resource at his disposal, pinpointed her location, and flown to Solara without pause. It wasn’t until he saw her standing alone in the biting wind that his heart began to beat again.

The grim set of her jaw, the wound on her arm, the sweat glistening on her brow—all of it screamed failure to protect her. That helpless rage boiled within him, sharp and relentless.

The helicopter glided steadily toward Light Estate, touching down smoothly on the helipad. Not a word had passed Sebastian’s lips during the flight; he simply held her close, unwilling to let go. Lilian, exhausted from fighting the effects of the drug coursing through her veins, had slipped into unconsciousness.

Outside, the butler and staff awaited anxiously. The moment they saw Sebastian carrying a girl in his arms, Louis immediately recognized her and swiftly instructed the staff to prepare for their arrival.

Sebastian carried Lilian up the grand staircase to the master bedroom, where he gently laid her down on the plush velvet bed. Gazing at her peaceful, sleeping face, he breathed out a quiet prayer. “Lilian… thank God you’re safe.”

A soft knock interrupted the silence. The butler entered quietly. “Mr. Sebastian, the doctor has arrived.”
