Arlo suppressed his rising anger and took a deep breath. “It seems you are absolutely certain that George has abducted your fiancée, Mr. Whitmore.”
“Naturally,” Sebastian replied. “Do you think I would come to your door demanding a person if I didn’t have absolute proof?”
Arlo stared at Sebastian for a long moment. “Fine. I will have him come here.” He turned to Stellan. “Call George. Tell him he has thirty minutes to get back to the estate.”
“Yes, sir,” Stellan said, immediately dialing the number.
Half an hour later, a black business van pulled up to the entrance of the Mildew family estate.
A servant hurried to open the door.
George stepped out and asked, “Where is Grandfather?”
“In the drawing room, sir,” the servant answered respectfully.
George frowned slightly and headed toward the drawing room.
As soon as he stepped inside, he felt the heavy, suffocating atmosphere. Arlo sat on the sofa with a grim expression, flanked by George’s two older brothers. Opposite them sat a man he didn’t recognize, accompanied by two associates.
George forced a smile. “Oh? We have guests.”
Arlo shot a sharp look at George and said coldly, “This is the Chairman of Empire Group, Mr. Sebastian Whitmore.”
George’s eyes widened slightly. He was well aware of Empire Group’s reputation, but he hadn’t expected its master to be so young. He offered a practiced, polite smile and extended his right hand. “I’ve heard much about you.”
Sebastian didn’t move. He simply stared at George with a frigid gaze. “I can’t say the same. I’m here today because I want to know your motive for taking my fiancée without my permission.”
“Fiancée?” George retracted his hand, looking confused. “Is there a misunderstanding, Mr. Whitmore? I don’t believe I’ve ever met your fiancée.”
Sebastian sneered. “Gray is your subordinate, is he not?”

“You sent Gray to investigate my fiancée. Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten so soon,” Sebastian said, his voice dropping to a dangerous chill.
Shock flickered across George’s face. “Your fiancée is Lillian?”
“Indeed.” Sebastian fixed a piercing stare on him. “So, you haven’t forgotten. Now tell me, what was your objective in having her kidnapped?”
George was reeling. He never imagined Lillian could be this man’s fiancée. He cursed Gray a hundred times over in his head–how could such a critical detail have been missed?
However, thinking of the research Lillian was currently conducting for him, he gritted his teeth and stood his ground. “I have no idea what you’re talking about, Mr. Whitmore. Yes, I had
Gray look into Lillian, but I never had her kidnapped. If your fiancée is missing, it has nothing to do with me.”
Sebastian’s lips curled into a cold smile. “So, you have no intention of admitting it?”
George sat down on an adjacent sofa with practiced composure. “How can I admit to something I didn’t do? You’re looking for the wrong person, Mr. Whitmore.”
A predatory light gleamed in Sebastian’s eyes as he slowly turned the signet ring on his thumb. “Since you refuse to admit it, I have no choice but to push the Mildew family to the brink. Let’s see who lasts longer.”
“What are you implying?” George snapped.
Sebastian leaned back, a chilling smirk playing on his lips. “If you refuse to confess, there isn’t much I can do to force you. But since my fiancée vanished without a trace and you are the prime suspect, I will simply continue to bleed your family dry until you find your conscience.”
