Rewrite Her Thrilling Life (Lillian and Sebastian) novel Chapter 89

At that very moment, in a dimly lit, smoky bar, Misty was numbing her frustration with strong drinks, her voice barely audible as she muttered bitterly, “Why? Why on earth should I be the one to apologize to some nobody? Who does she think she is?” She grabbed another glass without hesitation and drained it in one swift gulp. Her once flawless makeup was now smeared and ruined, and her disheveled appearance mirrored the turmoil inside her.

Sitting close by, Lily attempted to soothe her friend’s fury. “Exactly. You’re the eldest daughter of the Lincoln family. How could you possibly stoop to apologize to some small-town doctor?” Her eyes glittered sharply, cold and calculating like a poised snake, as she poured another drink and slid it toward Misty.

“I’ve never been humiliated like this before, not in all my life. That woman… If I don’t teach her a lesson, then I’m not Misty,” Misty hissed, venom dripping from her words.

Lily studied her friend’s twisted expression carefully, a strange, almost unsettling light flickering in her eyes.

Meanwhile, Lilian remained blissfully unaware that danger was silently closing in around her.

The next morning, just after dawn, as the first light filtered softly through the curtains, Justin arrived carrying a stack of property transfer contracts for Wings Corp. His presence was calm but purposeful.

Lilian looked up at him with a teasing grin. “Mr. Justin, you really don’t waste any time, do you? Showing up so early in the morning?”

Justin simply smiled back, unfazed by her playful jab. “I’m just trying to stay ahead of any surprises. If you suddenly decide not to save my father, it’ll be too late to regret it.”

Taking the documents from him, Lilian quickly scanned through the pages. After confirming everything was in order, she signed her name with steady confidence.

Following a quick breakfast, Lilian and Justin made their way to Barry’s room to begin the treatment.

By midday, the medical procedure was complete. Justin couldn’t hide his admiration for her skill and professionalism.

Checking her watch, Lilian said, “Your father should wake up later tonight. When he does, make sure he takes one of these pills every day.” She handed Justin a small bottle filled with pills.

“And a little advice,” she added quietly, “your father was poisoned with something from Xanderport. You should consider who around him might have the capability to do that. Just a heads-up.”

Though she preferred to stay out of the Lincoln family’s complicated affairs, she felt a warning was necessary.

Justin paused, his expression darkening as if a new realization had struck him. “Thanks for the warning. I owe you one. If you ever need help from me, just say the word.”

Lilian smiled softly. “I have a feeling I’ll be calling on Mr. Justin sooner than you think.”

With the business in Sandy River mostly settled, Lilian decided to visit Jimmy. Since he had been bedridden for so long, his body was still fragile and in need of rest. He wasn’t able to get out of bed yet.
