Rewrite Her Thrilling Life (Lillian and Sebastian) novel Chapter 92

Mr. Quinton crumpled to the ground the instant the car sped away, his body collapsing under the sudden shock. Several bystanders hurried over, their faces etched with concern, and quickly helped him to the nearest hospital.

Meanwhile, Misty and Lily were unceremoniously thrown into the cold, dim basement immediately after their capture. The air was thick with despair and silence. Sebastian’s voice cut through the stillness like ice. “Keep them alive. That’s all I care about. Beyond that, do whatever you want,” he ordered with chilling detachment.

Chaos had engulfed the Lincoln family completely. Desperate, they rushed to the police station, pleading for help to rescue the girls. But the Sandy River Police Department responded bluntly, “Sorry, this case is beyond our jurisdiction.” Their words felt like a cruel wall shutting them out.

The Lincolns pulled every possible string, called in every favor from their extensive network, yet every avenue led to a dead end. The next day, as if their misfortune wasn’t enough, Lincoln Corporation’s stock suddenly came under a hostile takeover attack. The numbers plunged relentlessly, dragging the company into turmoil.

Justin sat slumped in his office chair, his eyes glazed and surrounded by a haze of cigarette smoke. The whirlwind of events had unfolded too fast for anyone to grasp. The family was shattered—Mr. Quinton remained unconscious, Jimmy and Barry were still weak and healing, and Misty and Lian Qianqian were nowhere to be found. Not a single clue pointed to their whereabouts. The company was unraveling before his eyes.

His thoughts drifted involuntarily to the girl—so confident, so cunning—and now vanished without a trace. He never imagined it would come to this.

Suddenly, the office door swung open.

“Justin, what’s happening now?” Jimmy’s voice was weak as he was wheeled in by a caregiver, his face pale but determined.

Justin looked up, still drawing on his cigarette, and replied with a weary sigh, “The same disaster you already know about. The family’s in pieces. The company’s on the brink. And no solution anywhere in sight.”

Jimmy paused, then asked quietly, “Justin… is Lilian really gone for good?”

Taking a long, ragged drag, Justin’s voice was hoarse as he answered, “Yeah. The explosion was devastating. They only managed to recover fragments—no complete pieces at all.”

Jimmy’s mind flashed to the bright, cheerful girl she had been—so young, full of life, never given a chance to live it fully. Now, everything was over. A sharp ache tightened his chest. If only she hadn’t agreed to their father’s desperate plea to come save them… maybe none of this would have happened.

Though the official search had been called off, Sebastian refused to surrender. He doubled the search teams and relentlessly scoured every inch of the area. Deep inside, he clung to the hope that Lilian was still alive.

Pressure mounted from Kingston and the company’s overseas branches, demanding results.

Sebastian thrust a file into Foster’s hands, his tone icy. “Tell them—if they can’t handle this, they can pack up and leave.”
