“Mr. Janus, have you seen the news?” his assistant blurted out. “Lilian is the head of Skyreach Group!”

Janus froze. “What? Who is the chairman?”

“It’s Lilian,” the assistant repeated. “The girl you were dealing with. It’s all over the media. Every outlet, every magazine, every channel, it’s nothing but her.”

Janus grabbed the remote and flicked on the TV. Sure enough, the bulletin was dominated by her name. Hearing Lilian Harrington and Skyreach Group together sent a shock through him.

“See?” his assistant continued. “That girl played us. She’s had the land this whole time.”

Janus’s eyes burned with fury. He ground his teeth, his voice low. “Find out where she is. Now.”

Janus threw his phone onto the sofa and stared at the screen. “Lilian,” he muttered. “Unbelievable. You’re the boss of Skyreach and you had the nerve to lie to my face. We’ll see how this ends.”

Being made a fool of by a teenager was a humiliation Janus couldn’t stomach. He had never been played like this before.
