Address confirmed. Start shipping your prepper crates to the harbor warehouse directly, Joanna
wrote.
She knew Jolie’s industrial food-preservation skills would soon turn that warehouse into a massive logistics hub. But as she locked her phone, Joanna’s gaze turned calculating. While her mental villa could keep fresh food immaculate forever, she had no intention of revealing her spatial omnipotence to ordinary refugees. True security meant keeping her cards close to her chest. Her inner circle would thrive on fresh meals from the villa, but the masses at her future sanctuary would survive on canned, salted, and preserved rations—at least until she could recruit plant-based superhumans to cultivate her miracle soil.
Joanna left quickly and walked to the corner where a small gardening store was. She bought tomato seeds and left. At her apartment she quickly planted a few tomato seeds in her ground outside the villa of her space to see how fast they really grew. She watered it quickly from her spring water pond which had also gotten larger after the last upgrade. If Joanna jumped in her pond she knew she would not touch the bottom of the pond which was now a few hundred square feet in itself.
Joanna left her space and sat on the couch of her harbor apartment feeling satisfied, and pulled out her burner phone. It was time to check the live cloud feeds from the Harington mansion.
On the screen, the grand living room looked like a war zone.
Gwen was pacing furiously in front of the fireplace, her hair disheveled and her face twisted in an ugly, mottled red. Alice sat on the sofa, clutching her head, sobbing hysterically. The luxury and composure they usually wore like armor had completely dissolved.
“What do you mean, frozen?!” Gwen shrieked, slamming a crystal vase into the hearth. The smash echoed sharply through the burner phone’s speaker. “The Harington corporate shares are pristine! My father left them explicitly to that ungrateful brat! How dare they claim the signatures are fraudulent!”
“Mom, stop it!” Alice screamed back, her voice raw. “The corporate attorney called me today! He said the legal transfer documents I tried to deposit this morning were sophisticated counterfeits! The bank security team filed a systemic fraud alert! They’ve frozen my personal accounts too because I tried to liquidate the liquid bonds!”
Gwen froze, her eyes widening in sheer horror. “The bonds too? No… no, that’s impossible. Those were locked in my private master safe!”
“They’re gone, Mom! Everything is gone!” Alice wailed, kicking a decorative pillow across the floor. “Alice looked guiltily at Gwen her posture showing nervousness. “Also, I gave Drew my last 5 million last night for his company.” Alice stuttered “I…I tried to call him this morning but he may have blocked my number.” Alice said the last part in almost a whisper.

Through the hidden lens, Joanna watched Gwen drop onto a chair, her breathing shallow as the crushing weight of reality hit her. They were almost broke. They had no food in the pantry, their utilities were tied to accounts that would bounce within thirty days, and the elite social circle they lived to impress would find out about their ruin in the next few months.
“It was Joanna,” Gwen whispered, her voice suddenly dropping into a venomous, raspy hiss. “That silent, pathetic piece of trash, she blocked us. She was the only one who went to the bank. She was the only one who had access to the trust vault.”
“That bitch!” Alice roared, sprinting toward the stairs. “I’ll kill her! I’m going to fly to her student apartment right now and I’ll rip her throat out!”
Joanna calmly tapped the screen, switching the feed to her weatherproof gate camera. She watched Alice and Gwen sprint out to Alice’s luxury sports car, tearing down the driveway in a cloud of exhaust.
Joanna checked the time on her main phone. It would take Alice a day to travel down to the university campus. When she arrived, she would find Joanna’s old student apartment completely cleaned out, the lease terminated, and the landlord holding no forwarding address.
“Enjoy the drive, sis,” Joanna murmured, a cold, predatory smile cutting across her face as she tossed the burner phone onto the counter.
