Chapter 43 My pocket dimension’s harvest is officially up and running
Jake looked down at the keys in his hand, a profound, heavy sense of relief washing over his face. He looked up at Joanna, his voice thick with genuine emotion. “I don’t even know how to begin to repay you for this, Joanna.”
“Don’t worry about that right now,” Joanna replied smoothly, offering him a warm, encouraging smile. “Go upstairs, take Raven, and get settled in. Take a few hours to breathe and unpack your things. Then make a list. Jolie will help you get anything you require. Once you’re ready, come down to the penthouse floor for dinner later tonight. We’ll order something great, and we can finally sit down to discuss the details for the next few months, your funds, and what comes next.”
Jake nodded firmly, tightening his grip on his duffel bag. “We’ll be there. Thank you, Joanna. Truly.”
With a final wave, Jake and Raven headed through the secure glass lobby doors toward the elevator, ready to step into their new, hidden life.
Joanna swiped her keycard at her ground floor unit, and the heavy door unlocked, welcoming them back into the cool, immaculate sanctuary of their home.
“Home sweet home,” Jolie groaned, dropping the first wave of heavy suitcases onto the polished entryway floor. “I am so happy we are back!”
“Don’t get too comfortable yet,” Joanna laughed, wheeling her own bags toward the master bedroom. “We have a lot of work to do before Jake and Raven come down for dinner. Unpack your gear, change into something comfortable, and let’s get organized.”
Ten minutes later, both women were sitting at the large kitchen island. Joanna had her encrypted tablet out, while Jolie sat with a fresh notebook and a pen, ready to map out their logistics.
“Alright, boss, lay it on me,” Jolie said, clicking her pen. “What’s the priority for the next few days?”
“First, we need to handle the logistics for our food supply,” Joanna said, her voice dropping into a serious, tactical tone. She leaned forward, a spark of excitement in her eyes. “My pocket dimension’s harvest is officially up and running. The spatial upgrade from that raw jade automated everything. The fields are hyper-accelerated now.”
Jolie stopped writing, her eyes widening. “Wait, really? How much did it yield?”
“More than we can handle without proper storage,” Joanna explained. “Right now, I have the first major harvest of rice completely filling the wooden crates we took from the jade shipment.

And there is a fresh batch of crops-more rice, sweet potatoes, grains, and vegetables-coming in every single week. The space keeps everything perfectly fresh and locked in time, but if I bring it out into the real world, it needs to be ready for consumption or proper long-term storage.”
Jolie’s jaw dropped. “Every week? Joanna, that’s insane. We’re going to have enough food to feed a small army.”
“Exactly. Which is why I need you to prepare a massive procurement list,” Joanna instructed. “Over the next few days, I want you to quietly source and buy thousands of heavy-duty burlap sacks, vacuum-seal bags, and a large quantity of small, stackable plastic crates. I will transfer a million over to you. Separate them into categories on your list: crates for vegetables, crates for fruits, and specialized, insulated containers for meat. When the world falls apart, I want our inventory perfectly organized inside the space so we can pull out exact rations instantly. Also buy tons of prepared boxes so we can cook the food into small group servings. If they go into my space hot they stay hot until we pull them back out. When we start traveling we won’t always have secured places to rest in.”
Jolie nodded fiercely, her pen flying across the paper as she categorized the storage gear. “Sacks, sealers, vegetable crates, fruit crates, meat insulation and meal prep. Got it. I’ll place the bulk orders and have them shipped to our warehouse.
“Perfect.” Joanna said. “While you’re working on that list, order us something heavy for dinner from that high-end bistro down the street. Get enough for four people so it’s arriving right when Jake and Raven come downstairs in a few hours. I have a feeling Jake burns through calories just by standing up, and his sister needs a good, comforting meal.”
“On it. Steak, pasta, and all the comfort food a growing giant needs,” Jolie smiled, tapping her phone to open a food delivery app. Before submitting the order, she paused, looking up at Joanna. “Hey, speaking of logistics… we need to talk about our fleet. What are we doing about vehicles?”
