Rewriting Fate with My Apex War Goddess (by Ezekiel Valor) novel Chapter 550

Chapter 550 It’s a Sweep

Every eye stayed locked on the screens.

Somewhere across Orroux, Zac stared at the footage with a dazed expression on his face. That guy I knew just had his Awakening not too long ago?

What is he, a monster?

The transports skimmed along the edge of the hunting ground, dropping competitors one by

one.

The tournament had finally begun in earnest.

Steven got dropped without ceremony, same as everyone else.

The moment his feet hit the ground, he took a quick survey of his surroundings.

This stretch of Orroux’s hunting ground sprawled out impossibly wide.

Four hours total, and there was no guarantee everyone would even cross paths with each other.

Steven drew in a slow breath. No doubt every inch of this place sat under the watch of countless biomimetic surveillance drones.

No point overthinking it. Time to get to work. He had a first place finish to secure for Rowenville.

A sharp gleam flared in his eyes.

Gold light flickered in the depths of his pupils as his vision began to pierce straight through the terrain.

His Eye of Insight had reached a terrifying level of range by now, stretching out for dozens of miles.

As long as no mountain range blocked the way, he could see clear across open ground without obstruction.

His gaze locked onto targets.

The strongest of them topped out at level four beasts. Those he’d take down without hesitation.

To him, every one of them amounted to nothing more than resources waiting to be harvested.

Time to begin.

The corner of Steven’s mouth curved upward.

He planted one foot and shot forward like a loosed arrow.

Every beast in this hunting ground might as well have had nowhere left to hide from him.

The total count only ran so high. First to the kill claimed the points.

Level one beasts earned a single point. Level 2 beasts, ten points. Level 3, one hundred. Level 4, a full thousand.

Among the thousand plus competitors scattered across the grounds, only a small handful could even hope to take down a level 4 beast, Bianca and Fiona included. The rest didn’t come close.

And under normal circumstances, most competitors avoided level 4 beasts entirely. The risk simply wasn’t worth it.

Level 3 beasts offered the best return for the effort involved.

But for Steven, none of that mattered. They were all the same to him.

Back at the viewing platform, on the scoreboard…

Most competitors still sat frozen at zero. A small handful had crawled up to a few points, maybe ten, and even that climbed painfully slow.

But the number next to Steven’s name kept shifting, faster and faster.

Everyone in the stands sat frozen in disbelief. His numbers hadn’t stopped climbing once.

Orroux Academy’s students watching looked stunned beyond words.

Nothing like this had ever happened in the entire history of the Awakened Tournament.
