Chapter 571 Shocking
Every strike proved just how extraordinary Steven really was.
Finished
Everyone had shown up today hoping to see some new trick from Steven, and instead they’d watched a parade of so called prodigies fail to survive even one of his punches.
A dark, cold intent stirred in Kenneth’s chest. His brother had been humiliated like a plaything, and as the older brother, doing nothing about it would only invite ridicule from every corner.
Up in the elevated section, Hudson watched Steven with a faint, unreadable smile.
Ian smiled beside him. “Director, this young man might just help us secure a strong result at the upcoming Tier-3 Awakened Tournament.”
Hudson smiled faintly. “Yes, his potential is enormous. I only hope he grows steadily and safely from here
Ian nodded. “True enough. Talent alone doesn’t guarantee true strength.
“He’s chosen the path of an Awakened Squad member, and that road is riddled with danger at every turn.”
Hudson said nothing further, letting the comment hang unanswered.
Over in the Kingston family’s section, Cyrus stared at Steven with a flat, indifferent expression, the kind reserved for looking at a dead man walking.
Jennifer’s face stayed cold and distant, still simmering with unresolved resentment.
Beside Jennifer, Jocelyn watched Steven with quiet astonishment. There was no denying it, every one of Alan’s teammates was exceptional in their own right.
But the moment her thoughts drifted to her half brother, a storm of conflicted emotion churned inside her chest.
Was there any chance left of reconciling with him in this lifetime?
She hated him, and yet some part of her still couldn’t bring herself to fully let go.
Maybe this lifetime was destined to end without them ever speaking again.
Steven clapped his hands together and walked to the edge of the stage, looking down at Griffin, who wore an expression of pure agony.
“You alright, Griffin? Guess I put a little more force behind that than I meant to. I honestly thought you’d be able to take it. Steven’s face carried an expression of pure, innocent concern.
Griffin hadn’t blacked out, at least.
But he was still in absolute agony, his insides churning violently, organs shifted painfully out of place.
He forced back every furious word threatening to spill out and managed to squeeze out a faint smile
instead.

Flushed
“I’m fine. Your strength speaks for itself, Steven. I bow to it completely.”
Steven smiled. “Good to hear.
Steven turned and walked away.
A cold, bitter feeling settled into Griffin’s chest.
In his entire career, Griffin had never once been defeated this thoroughly.
He swore to himself that he’d find a way to return that punch someday.
Robby’s voice rang out. “Steven wins!”
A he moved in to treat Griffin’s injuries.
proper healing, there was no way he’d recover to full strength in such a short amount of time.

meant Bianca’s upcoming match against him would be considerably easier than it might have been
at full strength, Griffin’s best techniques wouldn’t have been enough to beat Bianca anyway.
anca had already proven capable of cutting down a Divine General in combat.
Roughly half an hour passed.
Griffin fought through the pain and climbed back onto the stage. He might not claim first place, but he refused to give up on second without a fight.
The atmosphere in the stadium flared back to life instantly.
Bianca stood ready, her S-rank purple blade in hand, her expression calm and composed.
Griffin forced a faint smile. “Let’s just keep this clean, Bianca.
“It’s a friendly spar.”
As he spoke, he extended a hand, clearly hoping for another handshake.
Bianca raised her blade instead.
“If we’re fighting, then let’s fight.”
A flicker of discomfort crossed Griffin’s face. She wasn’t giving him a single opening. Fine, then. He’d tind his chance somewhere in the fight itself.
