Chapter 591 Farewell
Everyone said their goodbyes to one another.
Steven said, “Peter, Darlene, Danny, Louic, Theo–safe travels, all of you!”
Bianca waved to everyone too, a faint sadness hanging in the air.
They all managed a smile.
“Take care!”
Frank glanced at Steven and Alan as well.
“Look after yourselves!”
Olivia’s eyes were wet. They’d come so far together, and now, at a time like this, they had to part–it was truly too hard to bear.
Peter and the others followed in Frank’s steps and walked out the front door.
Once he’d left the villa, Peter, that rough, tough man, finally couldn’t hold it together.
But still, he walked away without once looking back.
He couldn’t look back–he was afraid that if he did, he really wouldn’t have the heart to go.
But they couldn’t drag everyone down anymore.
Let this be where they parted.
With his back to everyone, Peter raised a hand and gave it a wave.
He called out, clear and bright, “Teammates once, teammates for life–we’ll always be Ashen!
“We’ll be waiting for you to reach the very top of the Awakened ranks!”
Steven and the others watched Peter and the rest slowly disappear from sight, wordless for a long while.
This farewell felt so rushed–so much left unsaid in time.
But maybe this was the best kind of parting. No one had to bawl their eyes out; they could just treat it like the others were off to Rowenville on a mission.
They’d meet again someday.
After a while, Alan said, “No need for the sadness. This may well be the best arrangement. Compared to watching everyone thrown into danger, this is good.”
Everyone nodded.
Then, Alan said, “Next, Olivia–erase the five of them from Ashen’s records. That way, even if we make

enemies of certain peuple down the line, it won’t drag them into it.”
Olivia nodded.
Famthed
Alan went on, “From here, Ashen is just the seven of us. Maybe down the road, if we meet the right people. we can bring them in–but that’s for the future
‘On every mission, we’re going to be short–handed, and that means every one of us has to become even stronger!
“Everyone report your level, so the whole squad knows where we stand.
‘I’ll hit level 44 within the next couple of days.”
Edric said, “I’ll start evolving to Five–Sigil Divine General tonight!
Olivia said, “I’m level 39 now, not far from Divine General. It’d be even better if I could get my hands on a spirit fruit.”
Nicole said, “I’m level 31.”
Fiona said, “I’m evolving to Four–Sigil tonight.”
Bianca said, “I’m evolving to Four–Sigil tonight too.”
Everyone nodded, then looked at Steven.
Steven said, “Barring anything unexpected, I’ll probably evolve to Five–Sigil within the next few days. Right now I’m level 38.”
At that, a jolt went through everyone.
That was just insane. A speed like that was basically unbeatable.

And over the next two days, something soon happened on the Military Command’s end too–perhaps by Hudson’s arrangement, perhaps just seizing the moment.
On the second night, Bianca and Fiona evolved to Four–Sigil one after the other, their auras staggering.
On the third night, Edric evolved to Five–Sigil as well, transformed through and through.

After three days of torment, Steven was worth thin in body and spirit.
Steven looked at the stone egg, now drained of life force, and understood in his heart.
Now that the snake had died, the beast power wrapped around it was slowly beginning to scatter, too.
He could feel there was still a considerable amount of power left in the stone egg. It couldn’t go to waste.
