At the same time, he noticed something unusual. Through the Eye of Insight, he discovered a faint, ethereal aura drifting through the surrounding space.

Not long afterward, the two of them arrived at Military Command.

After clearing security, they followed military personnel into a secluded conference room.

The moment they stepped inside, they spotted several familiar faces.

The other squads had already arrived.

Kenneth and Dexter from Polaris, William and Beckett from Soulreaver, and James with another teammate from Nebula.

Finally, there were the two members of Valkyries Squad, whom they were meeting for the first time.

The six members from the first three squads immediately turned icy the moment they saw Alan and Steven.

Alex from Soulreaver and James’s younger brother had both died at Alan’s hands. It was a blood feud.

Naturally, none of them looked pleased to see him.

As for Kenneth, that went without saying. Countless grudges had piled up until they had become outright hostility.

Kenneth sneered at Steven, thinking to himself that his chance to settle the score had finally

come.

The captain of Valkyries Squad, however, paid no mind to the tense atmosphere.

Instead, he smiled.

“Captain Greenwood, you’re not easy to track down. I never thought it’d take the Celestial Army to drag you out.”

Valkyries‘ captain was Shane Cross. He was known by the nickname “Nightwalker,” earned for his unmatched skill at hunting and killing under the cover of darkness.

Ala

some high–ranking official. I’m not that hard to find. If you wanted to see

me looking.”

Shane chuckled. “Can’t help it. I enjoy staying alive. I don’t go looking for trouble.”

Then, his gaze shifted to Steven. “And this must be Steven, the one who dominated the Awakened Tournament.”

Steven nodded politely. “Captain Shane.”

Shane laughed. “Unbelievable. One Alan was already enough of a monster, and now you’ve recruited several more. Looks like it’s only a matter of time before Ashen breaks into the Awakened Squad Rankings.”

In response, Steven offered a polite smile.

James, William, and Beckett all snorted in disdain.

Beckett scoffed. “You really think the Awakened Squad Rankings are that easy to get into? Those weaklings?”

Hearing his words, Steven let out a cold laugh. “What? That punch last time wasn’t enough to teach you a lesson? Want another?”

The moment Beckett heard that, anger surged through him. “Arrogant! You think I’d lose again?!”

“Feel free to try me. If I need more than a single punch, I’ll take it as a defeat,” Steven sneered.

Everyone present fell silent, each lost in thought.

That really was arrogant. He was claiming he could take down a Level 44 Divine General with a single punch.

Kenneth remained expressionless, but a venomous glint lurked in his eyes like a serpent waiting to strike.

An amused half–smile lingered on Shane’s face. Scenes like this didn’t come around every day.

After all, all three squads had their own history with Ashen.

Turning to Alan, Shane asked, “Any idea what this mission is? They actually gathered all of our squads.”

Alan shook his head.

If he’d known beforehand, he probably wouldn’t have come.

A short while later.

Everyone immediately rose to their feet, their expressions turning solemn as they looked toward the middle–aged man in front of them.

Steven felt a jolt run through him. So this was the two–star Grand General of the Azure Dragon Celestial Army stationed in Orroux!
