Rewriting Fate with My Apex War Goddess (by Ezekiel Valor) novel Chapter 618

Chapter 617 A Deadly Night March

“When the time comes, the other Awakened Squads outside the mountains will support us.

Finlined

“There are signs of beast activity near Orroux. Reinforcements may have trouble reaching us, so we’ve been told to stay alert.”

Shane rolled his eyes.

“What useless advice. How is ‘stay alert‘ supposed to help?”

He turned to Alan.

“Right, Alan? They might as well have told us nothing.”

Then Shane looked at one of his teammates. “Contact Polaris, Soulreaver, and Nebula. Tell them we’re with Ashen and want to join forces before we push into the mountains. They can meet us here, or we can go to them.”

The teammate quickly nodded.

A short while later, however, he returned with bad news.

“Captain, Polaris and Soulreaver rejected our request.”

He paused. “Nebula rejected it too. The three squads have already joined forces. They’re preparing to enter the mountains together.”

Shane grumbled, “What a bunch of jerks. They really think they’re better than us.”

Then he turned to Alan. “Captain Greenwood, I’m putting my team in your hands now. You’d better keep us alive.”

Steven and the others stared at him.

Alan was silent for a moment before he said, “We’ll wait until dark. Then we move.”

Shane grinned. “Sounds good!”

He turned to his squad.

“Everyone, get some rest. We move tonight! And when we get in there, we’re tearing through anything in our way!”

Wyrm Peak stood in the northwestern region of Solaria Mountains.

Thousand Shadows, Bloodfiend, Bloodgaol, and several others had gathered there.

On the screen before them, the fake Sentinel System showed Steven’s two squads moving toward the mountains under the cover of darkness.

Chapter 62 Beadly Night March

A mocking smile appeared of Thousand Shadows‘ face.

“I knew they’d come in.”

Bloodfiend chuckled. “The Ember Sacred Sword is too tempting. No rare treasure can compare to it. Those people will risk anything to get their hands on it.”

Bloodgaol snorted. “This time, they’re all dying here. Alan is the only one allowed to leave. Everyone else stays.”

Bloodfiend looked at Thousand Shadows. “Should we make our move?”

Thousand Shadows shook his head. “They’re entering from the direction of Cloudspire. That’s still some distance from us.

“Let them come deeper into the mountains. Then we’ll send the beast hordes after them and force them to change direction. We’ll drive them straight toward us.”

He gave a cold smile. “After that, we’ll have plenty of time to play with them.

“Once they’re inside, they’re trapped. They won’t be going anywhere.

“We’ll wear them down for a few days first. Just make sure they don’t meet up with Wyrmshade.”

Bloodfiend grinned cruelly. “Understood.”

Night covered the ancient mountains in darkness. Steven and Alan led Ashens and the Valkyries carefully through the wilderness.

Their footsteps sounded unusually clear in the silent valley. Every step carried them deeper into unknowny danger.

Steven and Alan stayed near the front of the group. Steven held the Skypiercer Spear tightly as he scanned

the darkness around them.

The others followed close behind. Everyone looked tense, with weapons ready in case something attacked.

It was almost completely dark, so most of them had to rely on night–vision goggles.

A soft wind moved through the trees. Leaves rustled around them, making it seem as if countless creatures were watching from the shadows.
