“Just remember to design a few extra things for me later,” I said, my voice dropping into a teasing tone. “An Alpha’s wardrobe is surprisingly dull without his Luna’s touch.”
A small, genuine smile touched her lips, “of course,” she agreed without a second of hesitation. “Anything you want.”
I would have liked to stay with her longer, to bask in the sudden warmth of her gratitude, but the thought of her connection with the Nightfang pack was like a splinter in my paw.
Jensen was a parasite, and I wouldn’t rest until every single design and transcripts are no longer connected to him.
I strode back down to the study, where Susie was perched on the edge of the oversized leather chair, her small feet dangling, while Patrick – my lead hacker – sat beside her, with a mask of sweat.
“Princess,” I said, stepping up behind them.
Susie‘ didn’t even look up from the glowing monitors as her tiny hands hovered near Patrick’s, pointing at strings of data. “Yes, daddy..”
Patrick cleared his throat, looking up at me with a mix of awe and exhaustion. “Alpha, she’s… she’s a natural. She’s not just watching; she’s identifying the packet headers and she keeps saying she wants me to teach her how to ‘break the big walls.”
“I want every single one of the designs transferred here… down to the drafts.” I ordered, he nodded and went back to work.
Susie grinned, her eyes reflecting the scrolling green text. “I want to learn everything Patrick knows so I can protect Mommy myself.”
Sean, who had been brooding in the corner darted over, his eyes flashing with a sudden, sharp jealousy. He couldn’t stand being the only one without a new “toy.”
“Daddy, if Susie gets a laptop and a teacher, you’d better bring me back some rare poison plants for my greenhouse,” he demanded, crossing his arms. “Black Nightshade from my box on the island… You can’t play favorites just because she found a shiny box.”
I shoved my son’s head aside with a grunt of annoyance. “We’ll talk about your biological warfare hobbies later, Sean.”
“Then I’ll go ask Mommy,” Sean threatened, “I’ll tell her you’re letting Susie play with ‘scary internet monsters‘ and you’re letting her work with him.” He said pointing at Patrick.
I scowled, a low growl vibrating in my throat. “Don’t you dare! Fine. The plants. Just stay away from your mother with those threats.”
After a little back and forth, he gave up and went back to his brooding corner.
“Got it, Alpha,” Patrick whispered.
On the screen, folders began to copy over at lightning speed; every draft, every scan of the ancient transcripts, every scrap of Natalie’s work that Jensen had tried to hoard. Once the transfer hit my private email, Susie looked at Patrick.
“Can I do the ‘boom‘ part?” she asked.

Patrick grinned and tapped a final command string. “All yours, kid.”
Susie pressed the ‘Enter‘ key with a look of pure, childish glee.
“Next,” I commanded, my voice turning cold. “Find a contract.”
They moved onto Jensen’s personal cloud.
“Daddy, is this it?” She pushed the screen toward me.
My jaw tightened until the bone ached as I read the document.
It was an authorization agreement, It granted Jensen exclusive rights to everything she ever designed.

He had made her sign a contract where she wouldn’t be able to use her name or even work without him. All her work… every single pack she worked for only knows Jensen as the Keeper. No compensation, nothing but total exploitation.
He had taken her trust, her talent, and her devotion, and he had shackled her with a document that treated her like property.
“Destroy it,” I growled. “Erase every copy on every server he owns. Leave nothing but dust… also check if it mentions any physical contract… I’ll get that myself.“”
“No problem,” Susie chirped.
She and Patrick worked until the authorization contract dissolved into a million pieces of shattered code.
I exhaled, the suffocating tightness in my chest finally easing. “Good girl. Patrick, wipe the trail. I don’t want a single digital footprint leading back to this pack.”
