The nurse hurried into my office, her face pale and her voice trembling as she described Sharon’s latest tantrum.

I could feel my wolf growl at the mention of her name.

“I understand,” I said, my voice coming calmer than I was. “Go calm her down; I’ll be there shortly.”

The moment the door clicked shut, I bolted it.

My hands were shaking.

I reached into the hidden compartment of my desk and pulled out a burner phone.

I had spent years playing a dangerous game, balancing the medical needs of the Nightfang Pack with the opposite demands of a master who moved in the shadows.

I dialed the encrypted number.

“Boss,” I whispered the moment the line connected. “Sharon is spiraling. The situation with the Keeper has gone public, and Sharon is losing whatever grip she had on her sanity.”

I paused, glancing through the blinds to make sure I was alone.
