Chapter 208 Don’t You Dare Leave Me
Baron’s POV
I held Natalie so tightly against my chest that I could feel the erratic flutter of her pulse against my rewn skin.

Outside, the screech of tires and the dull thuds of reinforced steel colliding with our chassis provided a grim soundtrack to our flight down the road.
But it was Natalie’s voice that echoed in my mind.
“Don’t you dare leave me behind.”
The words had pierced through my heart.
I
For my entire life, I had been a man alone. I was the Witch Doctor and the Godfather of the North.
I had always assumed that to love Natalie meant to shield her from the darkness, to keep her in a gilded tower where no one could ever touch her.
I was wrong.
The driver was a ghost of a man now, his face graying as the blood from the glass shard in his neck soaked into his collar.
He was fighting for every inch of pavement, but the three black SUVS were closing the gap becoming more desperate.
Then, the air shifted.
A pack of wolves appeared out of nowhere.
Chris had arrived… his huge brown wolf leading the pack.
With the Stone family’s reinforcements flanking us, the cars that had been relentlessly attacking us realized the tide had turned.
They didn’t stay to fight a losing war.
They instantly drove into the woods leaving our car.
The silence that followed was deafening.
Natalie went limp in my arms.
“Alpga, Luna–are you all right?”
Chris’s voice was a frantic rasp as he yanked open the door.
He was naked and a part of me was happy that Natalie was unconscious.
The moment he caught sight of the dark red staining our driver’s neck, his eyes went wide with panic.
I scooped her into my arms, lifting her easily.
“Get the driver to the hospital,” I instructed coolly, my Alpha voice returning to take command of the chaos. “Natalie’s just in

shock… we’re leaving now.”
If it had only been me, I would have stayed back to hunt.
I would have tracked those cars until I found the nest and burned it.
But with Natalie in this state, I had no choice but to prioritize her peace.
Chris hurried to pull the car around, his followers carried the driver out.
Natalie’s fingers remained locked in my
shirt.
The drive back to the villa was a blut of Chris’s silent, focused driving.
By the time we pulled into the gates, Yvonne had already received the signal.
She rushed out to meet us, her face pale with a rare display of fear.
“Baron, Natalie! Are you two okay? We heard the reports… the street was blocked off-❞
“We’re fine,” I said as I stepped out, still carrying Natalie. “Go pour your sister–in–law some hot water. She needs to settle.”
Yvonne didn’t argue.
Within minutes of us entering the living room, she had pressed a warm ceramic cup into Natalie’s hands.
The steam rose between them, and I watched the heat against Natalie’s palms.
“Natalie, are you all right? Do I need to call a doctor?” Yvonne asked softly.
Natalie nodded, taking a small, cautious sip.
The water seemed to steady her thoughts.
She lifted her head, her gaze immediately searching the house.
Not seeing the twins, a fresh wave of worry crossed her face.
“Where are Susie and Sean?”
“They were a little frightened after the hospital earlier, and then the news of the traffic incident reached the staff,” Yvonne said, her voice soothing. “I had a doctor prescribe them a mild, calming herbal medicine. They’ve already fallen asleep upstairs. They didn’t see the news, Natalie. They’re safe.”
Natalie let out a long, shuddering breath of relief. “Good. As long as they’re sleeping.”
Watching her, my heart felt like it was being squeezed by a giant’s hand.
I looked at her silver hair, still slightly disheveled, and the way her hands trembled against the cup.
“Were you scared?” I asked, my voice low. “Natalie… maybe you shouldn’t come out with me anymore. My world is… it’s not the
South. It’s a war.”
Natalie paused, her cup halfway to her lips.

She turned to look at fire, and the firmness in her gaze took my breath away
She shook her head firmly.

“Baron, don’t you dare say that,” she said, her voice regaining its strength. “Yes. I was afraid and this was my first time ever experiencing someone trying to kill me in broad daylight. But it doesn’t mean I can’t go out with you. It doesn’t mean I want to be hidden away.”
She reached out, her hand finding mine.
“We’re mated, Baron. We’re one pack. No matter what we have to face in the future, l’Irstand by your side. Maybe I can’t fight like a wolf yet, maybe I can’t help you with the violence, but I can face it with you.) won’t let you be alone in that darkness.”
Her words filled me with warmth.
She never declared love with grand, sweeping gestures, yet everything she said made me feel like I was no longer the lone king
The only person who had ever given me that feeling of absolute belonging was my mother.
Now, with Natalie, I suddenly felt as if I had been given a new set of armor.
