Chapter 209 Not Your Dream Wife
Chapter 209 Not Your Dream Wife
Jensen’s POV
The digital display in my office was a sea of red.
The High Accord’s vote was ticking closer to the majority that would strip me of my title as Alpha of the Nightfang.

I was staring at the screen, my jaw locked in a permanent state of tension, when Hansel burst in, his scent spiked with the sharp tang of alarm.
“Alpha Jensen, we went to the coordinates from the anonymous tip, but there was no sign of Dr. Johnson. He’s been moved.” Hansel paused, “what we did find was a skirmish on the road. Someone intercepted the car Natalie was in… They say she was with an Alpha.”
The world seemed to tilt on its axis.
My wolf clawed at the walls of my mind. “What did you say? How’s Natalie? Who’s targeting her? Go get ready… we are going to
save her.”
I rose from my desk, ready to hunt down whoever dared to lay a finger on my mate.
But Hansel blocked my path, his expression grim.
“Alpha, there’s no need. The Stone family’s enforcers already rushed over. The territory is secured.”
“The Stone family?”
I sank back into my chair, the realization hitting me like a physical blow.
I had spent so long thinking of Natalie as my submissive Scribe that I had forgotten she was now the heiress of the Stone Pack.
She was the daughter of a legendary bloodline, protected by their own elite sentinels.
She didn’t need my protection anymore.
“Send someone to keep tabs on Jordan,” I growled, my eyes narrowing. “I need to know the truth about the baby–switching incident from twenty–some years ago. If the Stones are this protective of her, I want to know exactly what the Summers family did to hide her identity.”
“Yes, sir.”
Hansel turned to leave, but the moment he pulled open the heavy office door, he jumped back in shock. “Damn! Ms. Sharon… what are you doing here?”
My expression immediately sank. “Aren’t you supposed to be at the villa? Why are you here? Hansel, where are the warriors. assigned to watch her?”
Sharon stood in the doorway, looking like a ghost from a nightmare.
Her face was unwashed, her skin sallow, and her hair was a tangled mess.
But it was her eyes that chilled me.

They were hottow in a way that felt entirety inhuman.
At the mention of her guards, Sharon let out a laugh
“What are you laughing at?” I barked, my irritation churning into a dark rage.
Sharon shoved Hansel aside and strode into my office.

“What? You can’t stand the sight of me anymore, Jensen? Are you already thinking about sending me overseas to die in some cold clinic, so you and Natalie can finally live happily ever after?”
Her eyes locked onto mine, freezing and pitiless.
“Don’t start, Sharon,” I said, my voice dropping to a dangerous low. “You know better than anyone why I married you. You know the debt I carry.”
“But can you really swear on your conscience that when you marked me, there wasn’t a single other thought in your heart?” Her voice rose, becoming a sharp screech.
“Jensen, wasn’t my leaving back then a regret for you? So when I came back this time, sick and ‘dying, and whispered that I wanted to be your Luna, you agreed. Tell me honestly… was it really all for me?”
Her fists clenched tight at her sides.
She had wanted to build a life on this lie.
She had the the status, the respect and the savior’s mantle.
It should have been effortless.
“Jensen, when you were with Natalie, you thought not having me was your greatest regret,” she sneered, pacing in front of my desk like a caged beast. “Now that you’re matef to me, you’re devastated you didn’t end up with her. Are men always so restless over what they can’t have? Can’t you just be content? You’re my mate now! Yet you won’t touch me, won’t even speak to me, and you had me locked away like a rabid dog. Is that how you treat a wife? Do you really think Natalie would admire you for treating your legal mate like this?”
“What do you think you’re doing?” I roared.
It was as if Sharon had ripped the mask from my face and thrown it to the floor for me to trample on.
My expression turned murderous.
If she hadn’t been the one I believed gave me a rib to save my life, I would have ended her right there.
“Sharon, who are you to lecture me? You were flirting and entertaining men back then… more of them than I could count. Yes, you saved me, and out of gratitude I agreed to mate you, to give you a title before you passed. If you had any sense, you’d settle down and behave. But what did you do? Don’t think I don’t know you were the one whispering behind my back, driving a wedge between me and Natalie.”
Over the past days, the pieces of the puzzle had begun to fit together.
Thad claimed her in secret with just few of the elders.
Natalie barely left the villa; she had no friends in the South to tell her.

How could she have known the exact moment to walk away unless someone had fed her the truth?
“You’re too greedy, Sharan, You became the Luna and still weren’t satisfied; you wanted the Keeper title too. But tell me… do you deserve it? Can you design anything of worth, or are you just a parasite?”
