Jensen POV
The next segment of the video was dark, illuminated only by the swaying bulb of an abandoned industrial bay.
Natalie was tied to a wooden chair in the center of the frame, her head lolling, completely unresponsive.
Johnson stood over her, his face pale, his hands shaking violently as he looked at Sharon.
“What now?” Johnson’s voice was high, laced with panic.
“She’s too big a problem to just keep locked up here, Sharon! And Jensen… he might still have feelings for her. If he comes looking for his old mate, we’re both finished. The Nightfang will tear us apart.”
Sharon walked into the frame, her heels clicking rhythmically against the concrete.
“Then make her disappear from this world,” she said simply.
Johnson recoiled in visible shock, taking a step back from the chair. “You’re insane! Murder is a high crime! The pack council will execute us if they find a body!”
Sharon’s face contorted, pulling her lips back over her teeth.
“Murder? Who said anything about murder, doctor? What if it looks like a tragic, unavoidable accident?”
“What… what do you mean?” Johnson was stunned, his eyes wide as he stared at her.
Sharon leaned against the edge of the wooden table, looking down at Natalie’s pale face with hatred.
“Inject her with a paralytic,” Sharon explained flatly.
“Something heavy from your vault but keep her conscious. I don’t want her sleeping through the main event… I want her to feel every drop of air leaving her lungs. I want her to die piece by piece, knowing she can’t move a single muscle to save herself.”
Johnson’s hands shook so hard he had to grip his own wrists. “What are you even planning, Sharon? I can get the drug from the clinic’s stock, but how does this look like an accident to Jensen? He’s an Alpha-he’ll look for a scent trail!”
A dark laugh rang out from the phone’s speaker.
Sharon stepped closer to the bound girl, lifting Natalie’s chin with a single finger.
“Have your men tie her to the structural pillar in the back after the injection,” Sharon said, her eyes shining with a frantic delight.
“Then, we’ll stage it like we’ve both been kidnapped by a rival pack. I’ll make sure my clothes are torn, maybe a few superficial suts to make it look authentic. Then, I’ll call Jensen. I’ll cry into the phone, tell him I’m dying, and give him the coordinates. I’ll tell him to come save me.”
She paused, a sickening smile stretching across her face.
“The moment his car pulls up outside, you’ll set the warehouse on fire from the rear exit. He won’t know she’s inside, Johnson. The smoke will hide her scent. And when he runs through the doors, of course he’ll save me first. Drench the entry area in gaseline so that once I’m carried out in his arms, the structural beams will collapse. He il never be able to make it back inside for het. Just

imagine it doctor, unable to move a single inch, forced to watch through the smoke as the man she loves carries me out of the flames. Do you think she’ll die in absolute despair? Do you think her soul will burn along with her bones? Hahahaha!”
Her laughter echoed in my car.
I sat frozen, the phone slipping from my numb fingers onto the floor mat.
The recording continued to play in the darkness beneath the dashboard, the sound of Sharon’s high-pitched, psychotic amusement filling the empty space around me.
I hadr’t saved Sharon from an accident.
I had participated in an execution.
I had been the hand that turned the key on Natalie’s coffin.
How vile could Sharon be?
She was a monster who had engineered the execution of a Scribe, using my own body and my own misplaced loyalty as the weapon to do it.
And what had Natalie felt, trapped inside that burning building, watching me run out with Sharon in my arms?
The image hit me with a physical, suffocating force.
I gripped my chest, my fingers clawing at my shirt as my lungs flatly refused to draw in the cool night air.
I rolled down the window completely, my head dropping against the frame as I tried to purge the scent of smoke from my nostrils.
Why hadn’t I checked if anyone else was inside?
The question was a relentless hammer in my skull.
Natalie had been hospitalized at the time, recovering from the initial assault Sharon had ordered on her.
Why hadn’t it occurred to me even once that she might still be there?
I could have discovered the truth earlier, could have prevented the warehouse from ever catching fire, could have saved her from the agony of the flames… but I hadn’t.
At that time, my heart and my eyes were full of Sharon.
I had been so intoxicated by the thrill of her return.
So Natalie had almost burned to death, hadn’t she?
I looked up at the glittering lights of the villas on the hill.
Her radiant face now must have been rebuilt through painstaking, high-level reconstructive surgery in the North
Her skin must have been completely destroyed in that fire.
Just how much pain had she endured with such massive grafts?
