“The network has just exploded. Ms. Summers’ medical records just got exposed online. It’s a total dissemination. Every major pack portal and financial news outlet in the South has received the raw data.”

The words didn’t surprise me at all.

Natalie had sent me those videos just minutes before the scandal broke – clearly, she hadn’t intended to give me time to cover it

She hadn’t sent them to warn me or to seek my help.

She had sent them to show me the execution order before she carried it out.

She never believed I would deal with Sharon myself.

She assumed I would try to suppress the truth again, just like I had five years ago in the hospital room.

My Natalie no longer trusts me.

That realization cut deeper than the videos.

She didn’t view me as her Alpha or her protector; she viewed me as the enemy’s accomplice.

“I know,” I said, my voice heavy with a profound exhaustion.

Hansel, caught completely off guard by my calm, hesitated over the line.

“Sir? You know? Do we need to take immediate crisis action? She’s still legally the Luna of the pack. The pack has already lost a significant portion of support to Accord after the amusement park incident. With this news out, the confidence will tank. The pack may…”

“Have the council prepare the rejection papers immediately,” I commanded, my voice flat. “Cite fraud, medical misrepresentation, and a breach of the pack’s foundational martial codes.”

Hansel froze for a beat, “I’ll handle everything right away, sir.”

“Deliver them to the pack house in half an hour. I’m heading there now,” I said, putting the car into gear. “Have the public relations division contain the narrative online as much as possible until I arrive. Focus the press releases on the fact that the Alpha was a victim of this deception, not a participant.”

“Understood.”

Hansel hung up, the line clicking shut.

I stared out through the windshield at the villa just a short distance away on the dark hillside, my heart feeling like a block of lead.

I owed Natalie far too much.

A lifetime of debt wouldn’t even cover the interest on the pain I had caused her

But Sharon… Sharon had once saved my life.

Or at least, that was the one truth that hadn’t been dismantled yet – the scar on my chest from the car accident was real, and her missing rib was real,

Even if I rejected her, even if I stripped her of the Luna title and threw her out into the cold, I couldn’t bring myself to take her life.

The pack laws on blood-debts were ancient and absolute an Alpha could not execute the person who had given their own flesh or blood to keep his heart beating.

For the first time in my life, I wished with every fiber of my being that the person who had saved me five years ago hadn’t been Sharon.

I wished I had died in that twisted metal rather than live to become the monster who let Natalie burn.

Still, I didn’t want to leave the gates.

I wanted to stay and wait for Natalie.

I wanted to sit by the side of the road, waiting for the gates to open, knowing I couldn’t enter the villa but knowing that Natalie would have to come down the hill eventually.

As long as she did, as long as I could throw myself at her feet and let her see my ruined soul, there might still be a single chance for forgiveness.

But Sharon’s scandal was too massive.

The digital fire she had started was already spreading to the pack’s borders.

The pack couldn’t withstand another hour of silence from its Alpha.

I could protect Sharon’s physical life out of a lingering sense of historical gratitude, but I couldn’t let her madness drag down the entire pack’s lineage and the corporation I had spent my life building.

So, with a heavy heart, I started the engine, and drove toward the pack house.

Sharon’s POV

I sat on the edge of the chaise lounge, my whole body trembling so violently that the tea in the porcelain dip I held was sloshing over the brim, staining the lace of my dress.

Jensen’s hands… his fingers had been like bands of iron around my windpipe.

The pressure of his grip was still there, a heavy, suffocating weight that made it hard to draw a full breath.

I was visibly shaken, the terror of his glare echoing behind my eyelids every time I closed them.

Loretta was pacing back and forth across the rug, her face pale as she attempted to comfort me with desperate words.

“Don’t worry, Sharon,” Loretta said, her voice shaking as she adjusted the velvet blanket around my shoulders.

“He was just in a state… You know how his temper gets when the pack’s business is stressed. As long as you have that boy in your womb, he won’t dare touch you again. I won’t let him. The elders won’t allow an Alpha to harm his own seed!”
