Baron’s POV

Less than thirty seconds after the handoff, the boat had vanished completely into the wall of mist ahead, leaving nothing behind except the fading growl of engines and the bitter taste of restraint lodged beneath my ribs.
I stood motionless at the helm of the interceptor, my blistered hands wrapped around the steel steering controls hard enough to make the hydraulic lines groan beneath the pressure.
The thermite burns across my knuckles had split open again.
Clear fluid mixed with blood and stained the leather grips, but the damage barely registered.
I couldn’t feel it.
The only thing I could feel was Natalie.
The suppression band around her wrist was doing exactly what it had been designed to do.
It was trying to silence Nyx.
Because beneath the deadening particles and suppression frequencies, I could still feel her.
Her presence lingered inside my chest like a stubborn flame refusing to die beneath a storm.
She was alive and was willingly walking into the belly of a predator.
Raze hated every second of it.
Every instinct inside him screamed for me to abandon the operation, push the throttles forward, and reduce every vessel in the Atlantic to burning debris until I found her again.
Only discipline kept him contained.
Barely.
“Alpha.”
Renee’s voice crackled through the communications system.
“The tracking token remains active, but its frequency is dropping rapidly. The transport has crossed the territorial baseline and entered the primary receiving corridor. The Leviathan’s suppression grids are beginning to interfere with signal integrity.”
I kept my eyes fixed on the darkness ahead.
“Maintain the submerged tracking vector.”
The words emerged low and lethal.
“Do not allow a single vessel in our fleet to expose an identification signature.”
A brief pause followed.

Then Renee responded.
“The blackout remains intact. No–government channels have detected the pursuit.”
Good.

Let them bleed.
I stepped away from the helm and headed toward the rear compartment.
The interceptor rocked violently beneath another wave.
Flynn stood near the lower companionway, his broad frame braced easily against the movement.
He was cleaning saltwater from the edge of a heavy kinetic blade, his expression Carved from the same hard stone that shaped the
old Frost bloodlines.
He didn’t look up when I approached.
His attention remained fixed on the reinforced security box bolted to the deck.
Inside it sat Jensen.
Or what remained of him.
Bruises covered his face. His breathing came in shallow wheezes as he curled into himself like a wounded animal.
“He’s connected to the network loop,” Flynn said calmly.
His blade slid back into its she

interesting.
Fear was finally teaching him faster than privilege ever had.
I crouched down.
The red tactical lights cast long shadows across the compartment as I grabbed the front of his ruined coat and hauled him upward.
His breath caught instantly.
The moment our eyes met, his wolf folded.
I felt it.
Submission.
Raw and immediate.

The instinctive response prey had when confronted with something far above it in the food chain.
“Baron…”
His voice cracked.
Blood stained his lips.
“Please.”
I said nothing.
The silence did more damage than any threat could have.
“I helped you.”
Panic sharpened his words.
“I gave you the access codes… I exposed Loretta. I told you everything.”
His chest rose and fell rapidly.
“I’m not the enemy anymore.”
I leaned closer.
Close enough that he could see every fracture in

“Right now she’s sitting in her mansion believing this operation succeeded.”
I tightened my grip.
“She thinks Natalie is lost.”
His breathing became frantic.
I smiled.
The expression felt foreign.
“While she waits, my people are dismantling everything she owns.”
Jensen’s eyes widened.
“Every account.”
I tightened my fingers.

“Every property.”
His face drained of color
“Every alliance.”
“Please…”
“Every asset.”
His voice broke.
“Baron, please.”
I extended my fangs slightly.
The effect was immediate.
His wolf collapsed completely.
“You brought silver into my home.”
My voice dropped lower.
“You endangered my children.”
The compartment seemed to grow colder around us.
“You targeted my mate.”
Each sentence landed like a hammer.
“And now you’re going to sit here and listen while your entire bloodline disappears from existence.”
His breathing hitched.
“When the Leviathan sinks…”
