Chapter 116
Evelyn
Walking away from the scene, I pulled out my phone and dialed Aiden’s number. Classes wouldn’t start for another twenty minutes- plenty of time.
“Evelyn? What’s up?” Aiden’s voice came through, slightly distorted by the encryption.
“It’s time,” I said firmly. “Remember those videos I sent you yesterday? I want them released on the university forum. Now.”

There was a brief pause. “You sure about this? Once they’re out there-”
“I’m done hiding, Aiden. They’ve been spreading lies about me for years. Let everyone see what really happened.”
The videos contained not just footage of me being framed for attacking a human, but also proof of how my parents had fabricated rumors
about me. When I first arrived at school, whispers followed me everywhere–rumors claiming I’d been with enemy werewolves, that I’d
gotten pregnant underage. The truth was that it had been my brother Ethan who’d gotten a minor pregnant, and Kate had drugged me to
take the fall. My family had piled every sin onto my shoulders to protect Ethan and Kate.
“Consider it done,” Aiden said. “Give it five minutes to propagate through the system.”
“Thanks.” I ended the call and headed to my first class, a strange calm settling over me. After three years of lies, the truth would finally
see daylight.
After my first class ended, I received a text from Dean Fernandez requesting my presence in his office immediately. I wasn’t surprised-
the videos had probably caused quite a stir by now.
When I entered, the dean’s expression was grave. “Ms. Gray, please take a seat.”
I sat down across from him, hands folded in my lap. “I’m sorry, Dean. I know I’ve brought trouble to the school.”
He sighed, removing his glasses to pinch the bridge of his nose. “That’s not why I called you here, actually. I wanted to discuss Samuel
Petrescu.”
My spine stiffened. “What about him?”
“We’ve received some… concerning information about his background. As you’ve had interactions with him, I was hoping you might have
insights.”
I considered my words carefully. “Samuel is from an Eastern European werewolf family. He’s a pack heir, but I don’t know why he’s
approached me specifically.”

Dean Fernandez’s eyes widened. “Ms. Gray, how do you come to be acquainted with such individuals?”

I shrugged, maintaining my composure. “I don’t choose who takes an interest in me, Dean.”
He tapped his fingers against his desk. “This is problematic. Ilis presence here could be disruptive, especially given the… tensions we’ve
seen recently.”
“The programming competition,” I suggested. “Use it to get him off campus. If my team wins, we’ll go to the regional finals in Portland next week. That would at least create some distance.”
The dean nodded slowly. “That could work. I’ll speak with Professor Wilson about ensuring your team advances.” He paused. “And Evelyn, about those videos you released today-”
“They’re all true,” I said firmly. “Every second of them.”
He studied me for a moment, then nodded. “Be careful. Truth is a powerful weapon, but it often draws return fire.”
I wasn’t prepared for just how quickly that return fire would come.
As I walked down the hallway after meeting with the dean, I could feel the stares. Everyone had seen the videos by now. Some human students looked confused, not understanding the werewolf politics at play. Others–those from werewolf families–watched me with new understanding and, in some cases, respect.
Then I spotted Kate stalking toward me, her eyes flashing with the golden glow of an enraged werewolf.
“How dare you?” she hissed, low enough that only I could hear. “Take those videos down now!”
I stood my ground. “No.”
Kate moved closer, her hands curling into claws. “I’ll tear you apart, Evelyn!”
I easily sidestepped her lunge, my reflexes sharper than she expected. Students around us gasped, backing away from the brewing
confrontation.
“Go ahead,” I said coolly. “Show everyone exactly what I exposed in those videos–how the perfect Kate Gray loses control while the supposedly dangerous white wolf remains calm.”
Her face contorted with fury. “Why couldn’t you just disappear after the banishment ceremony? Why do you keep coming back? Why do I always have to be compared to your precious white wolf bloodline?”
The raw pain in her voice caught me off guard. For a moment, I saw past her anger to the insecurity beneath.

“You know what’s ironic, Kate?” 1 sald, my voice softening slightly. “I’ve always envied you. You had the family’s acceptance. Mother’s love. The pack’s respect.”
Her eyes widened in surprise,
Do you know what my life was like these past three years? I continued. “Hiding who I am, fearing what I might become, working three jobs just to survive? Now I’m just making you face the consequences of your actions.”
