Chapter 177
Evelyn
The next day, I went to the hospital. Felix’s face was grim as he approached me in the hospital corridor, clipboard clutched tightly in his hands. The fluorescent lights overhead cast harsh shadows across his features, highlighting the concern in his eyes.
“I have Kate’s test results,” he said.
I steeled myself, crossing my arms over my chest. “Let’s hear it.”
‘She’s carrying multiples, just as you suspected,” Felix confirmed, flipping through the pages.
“Triplets?” I couldn’t hide my surprise.
Felix nodded gravely. “There’s more. Her uterus is showing signs of rejection. It’s likely due to unstable werewolf genes. The babies each have different
genetic markers.”
“That explains her severe morning sickness,” I murmured, medical training kicking in. “And the exhaustion.”
“I’d recommend she carries them to at least twenty–eight weeks,” Felix continued. “And unfortunately, selective reduction isn’t an option. If we tried to reduce the pregnancy, it would trigger a genetic chaos that could kill all the babies and Kate too.”
I rubbed my temples, processing this information. “She’s only at twelve weeks now. That’s a long way to go with her body rejecting the pregnancy.”
Felix shifted uncomfortably. “I’ve tried everything in the standard protocol. Without intervention, I don’t think she’ll make it past twenty weeks.”
A solution flashed through my mind–risky, controversial, but possibly the only option. “We need to use moonlight herb essence.”
Felix’s eyes widened. “You can’t be serious. That’s for-”
“I know what it’s for,‘ I cut him off. “But it’s the only thing strong enough to stabilize the genetic markers and prevent rejection.”
“You’re willing to use moonlight herb essence for her?” Felix’s voice rose slightly. “I’m not explaining this to Dr. Bennett. If he finds out you’re using it to save Kate, he might not even acknowledge us as his students anymore.”
I understood his concern. Moonlight herb essence was precious, harvested only during specific lunar phases, and typically reserved for the most deserving patients–not someone who had betrayed and harmed others,
‘We’ll medicate first, explain later,” I said firmly. “This is an emergency situation.”
Felix stared at me for a long moment, then sighed in resignation. “Fine. I’ll prepare a treatment plan–one dose per lunar cycle. That should be enough to stabilize her until delivery.”
“Thank you,” I said softly.
Felix’s expression softened slightly. “You’re a better person than I am, Evelyn. After everything she did to you…”
I shook my head. “This isn’t about forgiveness. It’s about those innocent lives.”

Chapter 177
Kate was sitting on the edge of her hospital bed when I entered her room. She looked better than when id first found her–some color had returned to her cheeks, though her eyes still held that haunted look.
‘I’m being discharged today,” she said, not quite meeting my gaze. “I’ve decided to go back to Gray Mansion to recover. Father’s in jail, and Mother’s disappeared to who knows where.”
As if on cue, Marcus appeared in the doorway, his weathered face showing surprise when he saw me.
“The bill has been paid in full,” he announced, puzzled. ‘All of it–the private room, the specialists, everything.”
Kate looked at me questioningly.
“Gray Enterprises covered it,” I explained coolly. “It’ll be deducted from your share of territory dividends. After all, you are still technically a Gray.”
Marcus bowed his head slightly. “Thank you, Miss Evelyn.”
I turned my attention back to Kate. “Marcus, make sure she stays on Gray territory to carry these babies. No Stone family members are permitted to set foot
on our land.”
‘Understood, Marcus replied.
“And one more thing,” I added. ‘Grandfather William doesn’t need to know about this situation yet. His health is fragile, and this news might upset him.”
Kate looked up, genuine gratitude flickering in her eyes. “Thank you, Evelyn.”
I didn’t acknowledge her thanks. This wasn’t about her.
That afternoon, I arrived at Stone Mansion at the appointed time for the second treatment session.
Mrs. Stone sat silently as I positioned the silver needles along her meridian points. Her condition had improved dramatically since the last session–the silver poisoning was receding, her werewolf healing gradually returning.
“I can walk short distances now,” she said, her voice raspy from disuse. “And speak… though my voice is still rough.”
“Your progress is remarkable,” I replied, focusing on the delicate placement of the needles. “Your body is finally purging the toxins.”
Mrs. Stone’s eyes followed my movements. “You have quite a gift, child.”
Before I could respond, commotion erupted outside the room–raised voices, heavy footsteps. The door burst open, and Sebastian stumbled in, his face flushed with alcohol, his expensive suit rumpled.
The stench of liquor hit my sensitive nose immediately, mingled with perfume that wasn’t Kate’s.
“What the fuck is she doing here?” he slurred, pointing an unsteady finger at me.
Mrs. Stone tried to speak, but her voice was too weak to cut through his drunken rage.
“You, Sebastian spat, staggering toward me. “The Gray family reject, What gives you the right to come here playing doctor?”

I continued my work, not dignifying his outburst with a response.
“Are you deaf?” he sneered, moving closer. “Using your tainted blood to treat my grandmother? Get out!”
‘S–Sebastian, Mrs. Stone stammered, her voice strengthening with anger. “Shut your mouth! She… saved my life.”
Sebastian ignored her, partially shifting–his nails elongating into claws. “Are you conspiring with Kate? Is that it? Trying to take control of the Stone
family?”
I remained calm, though I felt my eyes flash gold momentarily. A power stirred within me–my wolf, growing stronger each day.
“We each get what we need,” I said evenly. “I help your grandmother, you leave Kate and her babies alone.”
Sebastian scoffed. “That bitch claimed she had Sterling blood. She lied to me. She’s nothing.”
