**TITLE: Where Falling Leaves Whisper Stories Written In Silence by Ryn Jace Reed**
**Chapter 90**

“Perhaps you’ve simply been surrounding yourself with the wrong women,” I shot back, my tone icy and unyielding. “If you could kindly untie me, we might engage in a conversation that resembles something civilized.”
“This situation is hardly ideal for negotiations,” I added, my voice steady despite the tension in the air.
Charles’s gaze sharpened, the crimson hue in his eyes flaring brighter, as if a fire had ignited within him. For a fleeting moment, I feared he might snap my neck in a fit of rage. But instead, he let out a laugh—a hollow, chilling sound that reverberated ominously through the confines of the cabin.
“Negotiation? You believe you hold any power to negotiate?” He prowled around me like a predator stalking its prey. “You’ve threatened me with missiles and infiltrated my systems with viruses.”
“Untie me,” I insisted, my voice unwavering. “Unless, of course, you’re afraid of an unarmed woman.”
The words struck a nerve, and I could see the tension ripple through Charles’s jaw. After a moment’s hesitation, he nodded curtly to his guard. “Release her. But heed my warning—don’t attempt anything clever.”
As the guard sliced through my restraints, I rubbed my wrists, feeling the sting where the silver had burned into my skin. I took my time rising to my feet, brushing the dust from my clothes with deliberate care. Then, with an air of calm confidence, I settled onto the leather sofa across from him.
“I want your yacht,” I stated matter-of-factly, letting the weight of my request hang in the air.
Charles blinked, genuine surprise flickering across his features. “My yacht? Why on earth would I hand over my yacht to you?”
A smile crept across my face, relishing the momentary upper hand. “Because I designed the central security system for it. If you refuse to comply, I fear the repercussions will be… significantly worse for you.”
I watched as the color drained from Charles’s already pale complexion. “Victor never mentioned this.”
“Victor likely doesn’t have a clue,” I shrugged nonchalantly. “So, do we have a deal? Your yacht in exchange for our freedom—me and my friends walk away unharmed.”
Charles began to pace the room, his mind visibly churning as he weighed his options. I could almost see the gears turning, calculating the worth of his prized yacht against his instinctive desire to retain control over me.
“Fine,” he spat out finally, his voice laced with irritation. “Take the damn boat. But mark my words—this isn’t the end of our story.”
“One more condition,” I interjected, leaning forward slightly, my voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. “You escort us to the boat first. I don’t trust you not to pull a double-cross… again.”
Charles shot me a glare that could have sliced through steel, but he snapped his fingers at his men. “Take them to the shore.”
As we made our way to the shore, I caught sight of movement behind a large rock formation. Relief washed over me upon spotting Edward, but I quickly masked my expression, not wanting to alert Charles’s men to our impending rescue.
Several Moonlight operatives were strategically positioned around the perimeter, a sight that filled me with hope. Edward had indeed brought a rescue team.
In a moment of panic, Taylor suddenly shouted, “Help! We’re being held—”
“Shut up!” Edward hissed from his concealed position, emerging just enough to be visible. “Stay quiet, or you’ll get us all killed.”
With urgency, I worked on loosening the ropes around my wrists and then moved to Aileen, who was barely conscious. Grabbing her, we made a desperate dash toward Edward, my heart racing in my chest like a drum.
That’s when I heard the engine roar to life.
A black SUV barreled forward, tires spinning wildly in the sand, heading straight for us. Time seemed to stretch, every second elongated in a painful slow-motion. I pushed Aileen out of the way, but I couldn’t move fast enough myself.
