Rise of the Banished She-Wolf (Evelyn) novel Chapter 97

**Where Falling Leaves Whisper Stories Written In Silence by Ryn Jace Reed**
**Chapter 97**

Evelyn

The sting of my father’s slap lingered on my cheek, a fiery reminder of his rage as I stood before him, my heart pounding with a mix of fear and defiance. For the first time in years, I felt the stirrings of my inner wolf, awakening from a long slumber, clawing its way to the surface. It was a dangerous force, one I had kept buried deep within me, but now it surged forth, demanding to be acknowledged.

Jonathan’s eyes widened, a flicker of surprise crossing his features as he registered the transformation in me. I was no longer the meek girl he had cast aside three years ago; I had evolved, grown stronger, and he could sense the shift in the air around us.

As the tension between us thickened, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the sterile hospital corridor, breaking the standoff. Felix burst into the room, his white coat billowing behind him like a cape, and instinctively positioned himself in front of me, a protective barrier against the man who had once claimed to be my father.

“What’s happening here? Who are you people? Why are you causing trouble in a hospital?” Felix’s voice, usually calm and composed, now carried an edge of fierce protectiveness that resonated with me.

Jonathan straightened his expensive suit jacket, his posture exuding an air of superiority as he looked down at Felix with that familiar arrogance that had haunted my childhood. “I’m her father. What’s wrong with disciplining my own daughter?” The word ‘father’ rolled off his tongue like a bitter pill, a word that felt like a lie. He jabbed an accusing finger in my direction. “This ungrateful girl has betrayed our family, stolen what rightfully belongs to the pack!”

Felix turned to me, his eyes searching mine for answers. “Is he really your father?”

I shook my head with determination, my voice unwavering despite the tempest of emotions swirling within me. After everything he had done—believing the lies, casting me out without a second thought—he had forfeited any right to claim that title.

Jonathan’s face twisted in fury, his anger palpable. “You disrespectful, ungrateful child!” He lunged at me, hand raised as if to strike again. “After everything we’ve done for you!”

The impact of my threat was immediate and palpable. I could see the color drain from Jonathan’s face; he understood the gravity of my words. The Council took such matters seriously, particularly when it came to abuse within packs, especially from Alphas toward their own blood.

Before he could formulate a response, hurried footsteps approached from the opposite end of the corridor. A woman with honey-blonde hair and striking features, eerily similar to Victoria’s, rushed toward us, her expression a mask of feigned distress.

“Jonathan!” Audrey called out, her voice laced with urgency. “It’s Liam—he’s sick. I need you to come see him right away!”

The moment she reached us, Jonathan’s demeanor shifted dramatically. The aggressive, intimidating Alpha melted away, replaced by a concerned, gentle man. “What’s wrong with him?” he asked softly, placing a comforting hand on Audrey’s shoulder, his voice a stark contrast to the tension that had just filled the air.

I couldn’t help but watch Victoria as comprehension dawned on her. Her eyes widened, then narrowed to slits as she absorbed the undeniable intimacy between her husband and her sister. The atmosphere grew thick with tension, and I could see the wolf-light flicker in Victoria’s eyes, a warning of the storm that was brewing just beneath the surface.
