Chapter 197. Little Fang

Chapter 197: Little Fang

Amorah POV

The words hung in the room long after the analyst finished speaking. Nobody seemed particularly enthoune letting a stranger meet our child.

Conrad was the first person to speak. He adjusted the baby in his arms and looked toward the security team “No meeting until I know exactly who he is,” he said.

The analysts immediately nodded. None of them looked surprised by the decision.

“I agree,” I said.

Conrad glanced toward me. “I assumed you would.”

The conversation continued for another twenty minutes. Every answer seemed to create two additional questions. Victor Hale had known Conrad’s father. Victor Hale had appeared at the academy.

Victor Hale wanted to meet our son. That was all we really knew.

Eventually, Conrad dismissed the security team. We returned to the main house with more uncertainty than information.

The baby fell asleep before we even reached the nursery. His timing remained impressive.

“I wish I could sleep that easily,” I muttered.

Conrad laughed quietly. “I don’t think either of us remembers how.”

That statement was painfully accurate. Since the baby’s birth, uninterrupted sleep had become a distant memory.

The following morning began much earlier than I wanted. Little cries from the nursery pulled me awake before sunrise.

I carefully lifted the baby from his crib. The moment he settled against me, he relaxed completely.

Conrad appeared in the doorway a few minutes later. His hair was a mess, and he looked just as tired as I felt.

“Did he wake up again?” he asked.

“Again implies he stopped.”

Conrad smiled despite himself. Then he leaned down and kissed my forehead.

Small moments like that mattered more than they used to. Life felt busier now, but somehow it also felt fuller.

By breakfast, the entire family had gathered downstairs. The twins immediately noticed that Conrad and I looked exhausted.

“You both look terrible,” Kyra announced.

“Thank you,” I replied.

Zane shook his head. “She’s trying to be helpful.”

“I don’t think she understands how that works.”

Kyra ignored both of us. Her attention shifted toward the baby instead.

A thoughtful expression crossed her face. Then she frowned. “Wait.”

Everyone looked at her.

“What?”

Kyra pointed dramatically at her little brother. “He still doesn’t have a name.”

The entire table went silent.

Zane blinked several times. Then realization appeared on his face.

“She’s right.”

I exchanged a look with Conrad. Neither of us had expected that conversation to happen over breakfast. Kyra looked horrified. “We’ve been calling him the baby for months.”

“He hasn’t been alive for months,” Zane pointed out.

“That’s not the point.”

“It literally is.”

Successfully unlocked!

Their argument began immediately. The baby slept through all of it.

Chapter 197: Little Fang

Conrad rubbed the back of his neck. “We were planning a naming ceremony.”

Kyra stared at him. “When?

Conrad hesitated

I answered for him. “Eventually ”

The twins groaned simultaneously.

“That’s not a plan, Kyra said.

“That’s avoiding the problem,” Zane added.

Unfortunately, they were not entirely wrong.

Among wolves, naming ceremonies carried significant meaning. Families usually waited until they felt their child was secure before making the name official

The tradition existed because names carried identity. They connected a child to family, territory, and ancestry. Given everything that had happened recently, Conrad and I kept postponing the ceremony.

Apparently, the twins had finally reached their limit.

“We need suggestions,” Kyra announced.

That sentence immediately worried me.

The next thirty minutes proved my concern was justified.

“Shadow Fang.”

“No.”

“Storm Claw.”

“Absolutely not.”

“Thunder Wolf.”

“That’s worse.”

Kyra looked offended by every rejection. Zane looked equally offended whenever she rejected his suggestions.

“I still think Thunder Wolf was good,” he argued.

“It sounded like a superhero.”

“That’s because it was awesome.”

Conrad lowered his head onto the table. I laughed harder than I probably should have.

The conversation continued throughout the morning. Every suggestion somehow became more ridiculous than the previous one.

Even Lyra struggled to keep a straight face.

“I liked Storm Claw,” she admitted.

Kyra pointed triumphantly.

“See?”

Lyra immediately raised both hands.

“I didn’t say it should actually happen.”

The victory disappeared from Kyra’s face instantly.

Meanwhile, Bethany remained noticeably absent from the discussion. She stayed in the guest residence where she remained under supervision.

The distance suited everyone involved.

By lunchtime, the twins had created a list containing over fifty possible names. Most of them were unusable.

Conrad eventually took the paper away.

“For the safety of our son, this list needs to disappear.”

Kyra looked genuinely heartbroken.

The rest of the afternoon passed more peacefully. While the twins attended training and school activities, Conrad and I finally discussed the issue seriously.

Chapter 197 Late Fang.

We sat together in the nursery while the baby slept nearby

“Did you ever have a favorite?” I asked.

Conrad smiled slightly.

“Maybe

Tfolded my arms That wasn’t an answer”

He leaned back in his chair

“You first.”

Thesitated

The truth was that I had thought about names many times. I simply never shared them because nothing felt certain “There were a few, I admitted.

Conrad nodded.
