Chapter 214

Nicolas stood up and said. “Why should I care if she cries herself to a swollen face? That’s her problem.

Tm going for a walk. You guys have fun.”

With that, he walked straight out the door.

Seeing Nicolas leave. Caleb got up too. “I’m heading out for a walk as well.”

Alicia wasn’t about to give them the time of day right now, and he knew it. He needed to seriously think about how to earn her forgiveness.

Trying to comfort Nicole? That wasn’t even on his radar at the moment.

Then he quickly hurried after Nicolas.

After Nicolas walked out, he told the crew not to follow him with the livestream.

Then, the hashtag [LieDetector: Nicole Says She Hates Alicia] started trending online.

After Nicolas had been walking for a while, his mom called him.

She hadn’t watched the livestream, but she saw the entire clip that was blowing up online.

She chewed him out first, then said, “From now on, keep your distance from Nicole. If you let her mess with you again, don’t bother showing your face at the Moore family’s door.”

Nicolas replied, “I promise I’ll stay away from her.”

After a moment’s thought, he said, “Mom, can you get someone to check Nicole out for me?

“I want to know just how much she was fanning the flames between me and Alicia, and if she was up to anything shady behind the scenes.

“Now that I think about it, some stuff just feels way too fishy and suspicious.”

His mom didn’t object. “Alright, I’ll have someone check her out for you.”

She knew it was crucial for Nicolas to see Nicole’s true colors once and for aN.

With his mom handling it herself, Nicolas didn’t bother calling his team.

Meanwhile, after Caleb stepped outside, he called his big brother Kevin.

He asked Kevin to really look into Nicole and figure out what she’s been pulling behind their backs.

Kevin had already gotten someone to dig into Nicole and her mom.

After hearing what Caleb said, he couldn’t help but pull up today’s livestream to see for himself.

He spotted the trending hashtag and clicked on it to watch the video.

After watching, he felt like his whole world had just been turned upside down.

After thinking it over, he downloaded the video and saved it Once he finished digging up everything mom, he planned to send it to his dad.

He also told his assistant to step up the investigation on Nicole.

With the three main characters gone, the rest of the crew drified off as well, and the livestream for the day was

Meanwhile, Jett went and knocked on Nicole’s door.

He called out, “Nic, I’m here to check on you. How are you holding up?”

Nicole’s voice came through, thick with tears. “I just want to be alone for a while.”

Jett replied, “Alright, I’ll leave you be.

“I’ll try to get Nicolas and Caleb to come and comfort you later.”

With that, he walked away.

Nicole, who’d been keeping an eye on things outside, felt her face darken.

‘Seriously? That jerk actually just left?

‘I said I wanted to be alone, but couldn’t he at least insist on coming in to keep me company?” she huffed, even more annoyed.

Her thoughts were all over the place right now, worried sick that Nicolas and Caleb would start suspecting her. And if her stepdad ever caught wind of this, she was terrified he’d totally change the way he treated her.

Nicole called her mom right away.

But her mom was at the hospital with Nicole’s stepdad, so she couldn’t answer the phone.

“Damn Alicia! She’s already ditched the family for good-so why does she still have to mess with me?

“That suggestion for the Truth or Dare game? Probably Alicia and Jason teamed up to set me up with that.

‘And Jason. Right, him too,’ she reminded herself.

She needed to find a chance to get close to Jason and deliberately create some misunderstandings between him and Alicia

As long as Jason stopped siding with Alicia, she could try to turn the tables in the next livestream.

She walked over to the window and just kept staring outside, not letting anything slip by.

Her luck wasn’t too bad-after about half an hour, she saw Jason wheeling himself out the front gate in his wheelchair.

She went over to the mirror and tidied herself up, trying to make herself look presentable before heading out to find Jason. Crying her eyes out, Nicole ran downstairs and straight out the front gate, not caring who saw her.

Chapter 215

Jason and Alicia had agreed to meet up.

He stepped out first and waited beneath a large tree near the entrance.

Thanks to the production crew’s setup, there were strings of lights hung outside the villa.

On top of that, a row of lights was draped across the big tree.

So even after dark, you could still see clearly.

Just as he finished his call with his secretary, he saw Nicole come running out.

A hint of amusement flickered in his eyes as he watched her, interested to see what kind of act she was about to put on

Nicole came running straight at him, wiping away tears, her face buried in her hands, not watching where she was going

She didn’t seem to notice him until she was right in front of him, then suddenly slammed on the brakes.

But it was too late-she crashed right into him.

Jason could pretty much guess what Nicole was up to the moment she came running at him, crying her eyes out.

So when she lunged at him, he backed his wheelchair up just in time, staying out of her reach.

Nicole couldn’t stop herself, and since she failed to throw herself into Jason’s arms like she’d planned, she went down hard, face-first on the ground, looking absolutely pathetic.

Just then, Nicolas and Caleb came back after their walk and chat.

On a nearby path, they just happened to witness the whole thing.

Both of them stopped in their tracks and hid themselves behind some bushes.

They obviously wanted to see what Nicole was trying to pull.

Or maybe they were trying to figure out if there was something between Nicole and Jason.

The path wasn’t far from the big tree, but there weren’t any lights over here, plus there were bushes off to the side.

With the two of them hiding and Nicole so caught up in her own epic wipeout, she didn’t notice them at all. But Jason, ever the sharp one, picked up on it right away.

Jason looked down at Nicole with icy indifference as she lay sprawled on the ground, not bothering to say a word. Nicole never thought Jason would actually move out of the way.

She’d faked tears and acted like she wasn’t watching where she was going, all just to run straight at him.

When she was coming downstairs, she heard Alicia’s door open and guessed Jason and Alicia had set up a meeting.

Her whole scheme was to crash right into Jason’s arms, hoping Alicia would walk out and see them together.
