After Nicolas and Caleb got back to their room, they just crashed on the bed.

He added. “Nicole, you’re really smart. Using the drinking as a cover is a great idea.

“If Nicolas ends up with you, just say he took advantage of you while he was drunk.

“That way, you can go to the Moore family and demand they take responsibility.”

Nicole had just made up the excuse on the spot, but after hearing Jett’s words, she realized it actually made sense

She nodded. “You’re right.”

Jett asked, “So, how can I help?”

Nicole said, “Go knock on his door, chat with Nicolas for a bit, and when you leave, don’t close the door all the way.”

Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to sneak in.

Jett smiled. “No problem. I’ll go now, before he falls asleep.”

Nicole gave him a grateful smile. “Thanks, Jett. I’ll make it up to you.”

After they finished talking. Jett headed over to knock on Nicolas’s door

Nicolas got up from the bed and walked to the door, calling out, “Who is it?”

If it was Nicole, he wasn’t about to open up.

Then he heard Jett’s voice. “It’s me.”

Nicolas finally opened the door, looking annoyed. “What do you want?”

ett pulled a keychain out of his pocket. “Is this yours? I found it in the yard earlier.”

Nicolas’s eyes went a little unfocused when he saw the cute panda keychain in Jett’s hand.

He snatched it up and held it tightly in his fist.

This was the keychain Alicia had given him ages ago, and he’d never gone anywhere without it.

He was about to close the door on Jett.

But Jett stopped him. “Did you guys pick up some water at the store earlier, besides the booze?

I saw you carrying stuff upstairs.

Mind if I grab a bottle? I’m too lazy to go back down.”

Nicolas didn’t think twice. “Yeah, we did. Come in and grab one.”

ett grabbed a bottle of water, thanked Nicolas, and headed out.

ett glanced at Nicolas, smirking. “You look pretty wasted. No need to walk me out-I’ll close the door myself”

Nicolas just nodded.

He clutched the keychain in his hand and flopped back onto the bed, not even noticing the door hadn’t fully closed.

After Jett left Nicole’s room, he let her know he’d done his part-now it was all up to her

Nicole thanked him again and left his room.

Jett walked over to the window and watched the activity in the yard
