Alicia chuckled. “Did he bring this on himself, or did the miracle doctor set him up?”

Jason replied, “He already had problems, but the miracle doctor probably gave him a little push.

“Don’t let Victor’s straight-laced act fool you. Behind closed doors, he’s a total player.

“One of his side chicks went out and caught something, and he ended up getting it too.

Alicia sighed, “Victor’s a total snake. That family made the right call breaking off the engagement.”

She asked curiously, “Does Nicole know about this?”

Given how that miracle doctor loves working in the shadows, chances are Nicole has no clue what he’s been up to.

Sure enough, Jason replied, “Nope, she’s convinced it’s all her own charm at work. She thinks Victor got hooked after a couple of encounters.

“She thinks Victor pursued her, and it was the Farrells who approached the Hammonds about the engagement.”

Alicia frowned, confused. “If the miracle doctor knows what Victor’s really like, why would he still let Nicole marry him?”

Victor was such a womanizer, and now he had that kind of trouble. Even if he got cured, it still felt kind of… off.

Jason had thought about that too. “He probably just wants to indulge Nicole’s obsession.

“His feelings for Nicole are pretty complicated.

“He’ll protect her, but he can’t be bothered to get involved in anything else.”

Alicia thought for a moment. “Yeah, that makes sense.

“He probably only realized Nicole was his daughter after she moved in with the Hammond family.”
