Chapter 97 A Morning of Concern
With Edward alone in the hospital, Arabella wanted to be there to share meals and keep him company whenever she could.
“That’s perfectly fine. You can let me know what Edward likes to eat. I’ll have the kitchen prepare some things you can take to him,” Florence offered kindly.
“Okay, thank you, Mom,” Arabella said, her eyes softening with gratitude.
After all, Edward was essentially a stranger to Florence. Her willingness to care came entirely from her love for Arabella.
“Sweetheart, there’s no need to thank me,” Florence replied, giving Arabella a gently reproachful look. She didn’t care for such formality between them.
“You must be tired from running around all day Why don’t you go upstairs and rest?” Florence suggested, her eyes full of concern.
“I didn’t realize it until you mentioned it, but I am rather worn out. I’ll go lie down for a while, Arabella agreed
“Go ahead,” Jonathan added, having also noticed her fatigue.
After Arabella went upstairs, Florence turned to Jonathan. “You can see how much this situation with the Macdonalds is weighing on Arabella. Perhaps you could have someone…”
Jonathan met her gaze, understanding her meaning. “I can’t intervene directly in the Macdonalds‘ affairs, but I can ensure Edward is well taken care of.

“Don’t worry about Arabella. I’ll make some arrangements right now,” he said, taking out his phone to make a call.
The day was clear, with a soft breeze and bright sunshine.
Frank returned by helicopter early that morning
“Mom, is Arabella home?” Frank asked as soon as he stepped out of the aircraft.
At this hour? She’s probably still in her room,” Florence replied gently, “Have you had breakfast?”
Not yet.

“Come sit with us, then. You can eat with everyone. Florence said, leading him toward the dining room
“Mom, does Arabella know about what happened to the Macdonalds?” Frank asked. He’d returned primarily because he was concerned about her.
“She knows Yesterday, she arranged for that older brother of hers from the Macdonald family to be admitted to the hospital to recuperate, Florence explained, her voice tinged with sympathy for Arabella.
Hearing this, Frank’s eyes narrowed slightly. He sat down quietly, waiting for Arabella to come downstairs
Not long after, Arabella came down with Naom
“Arabella, are you going for your flight lesson la Naomi asked casually.
Til decide after breakfast, Arabella replied, waling into the dining room.
Frank? When did you get back Arabella asked surprised to see him.
Just now How are yous holding up?” Frank asked his tone concerned.
Tin fine.”
Upon hearing Frank’s voice, Naomi quickly stepped forward. Frank, did you come back this early just to surprise us?
Frank offered a slight sale. “Have you been keeping up with your flight lessons?”
“Yes. The instructor says I’m a natural and picking it up quickly, Naomi reported, hoping for his praise.
Frank nodded with mild approval, “Good”
Then his gaze returned to Arabella. “And how are your lessons coming along?”
He sensed Arabella might not wish to discuss the Macdonalds, so he shifted the conversation
“I haven’t started yet. Things have been a bit here lately,” Arabella admitted honestly “What’s happened has happened. Try not to let weigh on you too much.” Franks said gently.
Arabella looked at him. It seemed Frank knew out the sination too. But she wasn’t upse about the Mactals he’d simply been very busy
He was worrying early. You mean the Macdonald family? I’m not sad abans it

“To the hospital first. Did you need me for something, Frank?” Arabella wondered if he had a request.
“No, I just came back to check on you,” Frank said, his eyes warm with affection.
Naomi glanced at Arabella. When she had asked earlier, Arabella had been vague. But now Frank asked, and she answered readily.
It’s just a trip to the hospital. What is the big secret?
“Arabella, Frank came back early specifically to see you,” Florence mentioned softly, wanting her to know.
Now Arabella understood Frank had cut his trip short for her sake.
She smiled. “You’re so busy, yet you made time to come back. I’m sorry for making you worry.”
“We’re family. Don’t talk like that. If you need anything, just tell me,” Frank said, his tone fond but firm.
“Alright, I will,” Arabella promised.
Naomi, eating her breakfast beside them, felt a pang of jealousy. Aside from his initial greeting, Frank hadn’t really looked at her.
So the Macdonalds went bankrupt–it hasn’t really affected her. Why is she playing the victim to get everyone’s sympathy?
In her view, Arabella was just using the Macdonald family’s misfortune to monopolize Hamiltons‘ attention.
Wanting some care for herself, Naomi spoke up Frank, there are a few issues at my design firm I’m not sure how to handle. Do you have time to come by and take a look?”
