Said No to the Prince and Yes to the King novel Chapter 11

Rejected by the Crown Prince? | Married His Uncle

Chapter 11 An Unexpected Invitation

As soon as Margaret left, Darren followed shortly after.

The servant outside asked, Mr. Kingston, are we simply giving up like this?

Finished

Darren replied calmly, If I recall correctly, the Prime Minister’s eldest son has always had an interest in medicine. Arrange a meeting with him. I imagine if he persuades her, his sister might reconsider.”

The servant nodded. A woman with skills like that is rare. If we could bring her into the Life Preserve Pavilion, our reputation would only grow.

Meanwhile, Margaret had intended to leave directly, but just as she reached the stairwell, someone abruptly pulled her into another private room.

As the door slammed shut behind her, Margaret demanded urgently, Who are you? Seizing someone in broad daylight—

Cyan released her with a contemptuous shove. You’ve got some nerve, lady. We sent an invitation first thing this morning. We’ve been waiting here since dawn. And now it’s nearly noon, and you couldn’t be bothered to show? Did you think you could just ignore us?

Sensing his anger, Margaret was utterly bewildered. She stepped backward cautiously. You’re insane. Do I even know you?

As she spoke, a needle materialized in her hand.

This man had whisked her here in an instanthis martial arts were clearly formidable. She had no idea if she could fight him off

And now she was alone in a room with two strange men. Even if nothing happened, being seen here wouldn’t bode well.

But her memory held no recollection of this person. Who could he be?

Just as she pondered this, her back suddenly bumped against something warm. She spun around in alarm

-there was someone behind her too!

But when she saw the familiar face, she relaxed instantly.

It’s you?

Theodore’s expression was unreadable. He raised a hand, and Cyan retreated to the door without a word.

Margaret quickly moved back toward the door. What do you want?

Theodore’s deep eyes fixed on her. Do you have any idea how long I’ve been waiting?

Margaret swallowed. We’ve met once. Why would you wait for me? And seizing me like this without explanationit’s terribly rude

Theodore frowned. You didn’t know?

Chapter 11 An Unexpected Invitation

Finished

Margaret was completely lost. Know what? That you were waiting here? I had no idea you were even here! We barely know each otherhow was I supposed to know you’d come looking for me?

Understanding dawned, and Theodore’s expression softened slightly. He walked to the table and sat down slowly.

It’s time for lunch.

Margaret remained wary. Earlier, Darren’s servant had intercepted her on the street, but he had been polite and respectful, inspiring no suspicion.

But this man radiated danger, especially his subordinateferocious and intimidating.

More importantly, both possessed extraordinary martial arts. If trouble arose, she wasn’t confident she could escape

With this in mind, Margaret kept a needle concealed in her hand. She approached the table cautiously but didn’t sit. Why drag me here so suddenly?

Before Theodore could answer, the door opened and servants filed in, bearing dish after dish.

Soon the table groaned with food.

Cyan didn’t withdraw but stood silently behind Theodore.

Both men fixed their gazes on her, making her deeply uncomfortable.

We’ve only met once. That one time, I cured your blood parasites. That makes me your savior, doesn’t it? And this is how you treat your savior?

Snatching her up without warning and glaring at her. Unbelievable

Cyan’s voice was ice. We sent someone to your estate at dawn. We’ve been waiting here all morning. What exactly were we supposed to think?

Margaret blinked. I didn’t know anything about it!

Not my problem.

Cyan’s tone was icy. No one keeps my master waiting. If you weren’t his savior, you’d be dead already.”
